P: Lightroom Desktop Keeps saying 'Unable to Connect to Network'

Trying to switch to Lightroom CC but I keep getting 'Unable to Connect to Network' in sync status. If I restart the application it might work for 50-60 photos and then returns to this error message. I'm trying to sync ~12K mobile photos before another 40K RAW images so obviously need to be able to let this run in the background and over night. Have tried restarting the computer as well to no luck.

Any other suggestions on what I can try?

I’m facing this error since day one, which was the first release of Lightroom CC, I’ve reported it multiple times but unfortunately no fix has appeared yet.

I see the same with unable to connect to network.

Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4
Synology NAS used SMB 3 (signing yes or no doesn't matter https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT205926)
Lightroom 3.2.1

As soon as the Netwok volume is not available, Lightroom connects with the cloud and works smoothly. But if the network volume is available, nothing works with Lightroom...

Hi Rikk,

Thanks again for the suggestion - i hope the following makes sense, but i'm not 100% clear on your request:

- The photos which are showing in syncing state on the desktop don't appear in  https://lightroom.adobe.com (presumably because they're unsynced);
- Selecting a recent image, and editing it on https://lightroom.adobe.com, does sync back down to the desktop (but only after closing and re-opening the desktop program)

Thanks

Martin

Next step, log into https://lightroom.adobe.com and perform a trivial edit on one of those files that shows in the syncing state. Does that cause it to sync?

In does it drop out of the search results?  No, it doesn't

Click on one of those images and perform a trivial edit. Does it clear?

Hi Rikk,

It shows all images, but with a black ring (upper right quarter blue) indicating that there is a process underway (but seems to just hang in this state).

Thanks

If you go to the Filter Bar and search Sync Status for Syncing, what appears in the image area?

I'm having same issue here - files saved on an external harddrive (not NAS).

Lightroom version: 3.2.1 [ 20200403-1047-0e59df2 ] (Apr  3 2020)

Was stuck on ~ 1,100 filed pending sync.  I added a few more to the library, which did sync, but am now stuck with the same number pending sync.

Any solution please?

Thanks

Hi Julie I started my computer from fresh, connected to the NAS, opened Lightroom and within seconds the message had changed to "unable to connect to network. I tried connecting to the NAS over both wifi and ethernet - same problem.
