P: LrD v9.4 the star rating is not working properly

Photographe de mariage, j’ai pour habitude d’effectuer mon tri directement sur lightroom via le système de notation par étoile. Or depuis 3 jours, celui-ci bug et est obsolète. Lorsque je met une étoile, celle-ci disparait instantanément et n’est pas sélectionnée. Parfois lorsque je met une étoile sur UNE photo, toutes les autres photos possèdent une étoile également mais ne sont pas sélectionnées malgré tout. Le seul moyen pour que ma notation soit pas obsolète, je suis obligé de faire clic-droit sur la photo, définir la note, une étoile. Sauf que cette manière me fait perdre un temps considérable !! Faire un clic-droit sur chaque photo que je souhaite noter sur un tri de +6000 photos c’est pas possible…. 

J’ai constaté ce bug depuis la dernière MAJ. J’ai quitté le logiciel +5 fois, j’ai redémarré mon PC mais SURTOUT j’ai désinstallé l’application et rien n’y fait.

      I’m sorry for the trouble!  We are able to reproduce this problem, and we plan to have a fix available in our next release.  We’ll update this thread once the fix is available.

      Hoping this fix is coming soon - because it’s been busted since June. VERY hard to cull pictures when this feature doesn’t work.

      in the LR photos grid view, the rating is defaulted to all photos. version: 9.4.1 arm64 [ 20260625-0318-d30e963 ] (Jun 24 2026)

      if I select 3 stars for one pictures, other pictures are also showing the same rating even without rating them.

        When you star a picture, LR stars all the pictures.  You have to keep going back and unstarring them.  This makes it difficult to cull images.

          when you star a photo in Lightroom under detail view the star stay stuck when you change pics.

          I have always used the rating system in lightroom to cull pictures. Ever since they came out with assisted culling when I star a pictures it stars others on its own, even though the assisted culling tab is closed and no settings are set for it.This is driving me crazy!

            I have a similar problem - I select one photo with a star rating and advance to the next photo and the star rating stays on that photo as well. I landed up using the flags, then filter to that unwanted flags and deleting those. At least it narrowed it down for me but it would be nice to have the star rating selection working properly.

              Hi ​@LeahGreenPhotography,

               

              Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. We haven’t been able to reproduce the behavior where ratings only register intermittently. Could you please help us with a few things:

              1. A short screen recording showing the workflow:

              • Apply a star rating

              • Sort by Star Rating

              • Continue rating additional photos

              • Show the ratings no longer sorting correctly and disappearing after restarting (if possible)

              1. Your System Info. Go to Help > System Info and copy & paste it here.
                 

              Also, could you confirm:
               

              • Does this happen with all photos or only certain file types (RAW, JPEG, TIFF, etc.)?

              • Is everything fully synced and visible on Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/4wl3Xm4)? If you perform the same rating workflow in Lightroom Web, do you see the same behavior?

               

              The screen recording and System Info will help us compare your workflow with our test environment and try to reproduce the issue.
