Hi I have noticed recently that all my raw photos from my phone are being stretched horizontally on import to lightroom mobile app for android. I have never had this problem before. The pics are unusable if editing on lightroom now. Can't fix the aspect ratio or the crop. Anyone else having this problem with raw files, and has anyone found a solution?

I have the same problem with my OnePlus 12 when I'm opening RAW photos on Lightroom or Photoshop but with the Desktop version. Already updated to the latest Camera RAW Version.

Hi @Sameer K - has the fix arrived?

Hi, OnePlus 12 user here, I've noticed something that I think might be useful both to people having this issue as well as the developers: the issue does not occur if you take photos in 4:3 aspect ratio. The other aspect ratios available in the camera app seem to be just cropped versions of a full 4:3 image, so if you need a different aspect ratio you can just crop it later.

When the image is "squished" in Lightroom, the aspect ratio stays the same as what you see in the phone's gallery app, but more stuff comes into view. What I think is happening is that the phone stores the full 4:3 image in the .dng file, and Lightroom squishes all the data into the picture's aspect ratio instead of cropping it. Also, this isn't just Lightroom: I've tried it and got the same behaviour (including it working fine for 4:3 images) on RawTherapee, the Windows photo viewer, and Gwenview.

You're absolutely right! Thanks for the suggestion. That actually resolved
the issue entirely.

Hi, I'm also recently expierencing this with images (RAW) i upload from lightroom to the cloud. When i open then on the app all portrait images are stretched until i edit the crop in the mobile app. From than the images are displayed correctly.
The photos are taken with a Canon R6m2 and displayed on the app on a Iphone 15pro. This same combo worked a month ago.

Hi @michiel_5642, welcome to the community!

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you’re seeing. It sounds like what you're experiencing might be a different issue from the one in this thread, since that one seems to be affecting OnePlus users and you're on a different device.

Would you mind creating a new thread with all the details, along with some screenshots of the issue? That way, we can make sure it gets the attention it deserves. If it turns out the issues are related, we can always merge the threads later on.

Appreciate your help!
Alek

Hello,  I have the exact same issue with my OnePlus13.  I've just came back from vacation with 1000s of images and looking at the photo on the phone is great.  Put if I import them into lightroom or transfer then to a PC, then the JPG are fine but all the RAW images .dng are stretched and unusable.

I have tried regular mode JPG, this is fine.

Tried the master mode in JPG, this is fine

Tried the master mode in RAW, looking at the image on the phone is OK or cast them to a TV with a wire cable is OK, import or view on any other application will stretched the image and make them very ugly.

I don't have a solution for you, but wanted to add more info to your message.

The only work around that I have found at this time is to EDIT the photo using the OnePlus Editor, do a small modification, like crop and then save the image to JPG, then it can be open in any application including LightRoom.  But this is very tedious and negate all the advantage of shooting RAW.

Hope we can find a solution to this issue.  I don't think it's a Lightroom problem but more a OnePlus issue with the rendering or manipulation of the .dng file.

Please provide an update if you find something, it will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you,
