P: Problem sharing images on Instagram

Since downloading the latest version of Lightroom for iPhone, I have been unable to post photos on Instagram. I keep getting error messages. I removed both apps and reinstalled them, but they did not solve the problem. The same thing happens on my iPad. I think it's a bug in the latest version of LR.

Hello everyone,

Updates for Lightroom Mobile are now available as part of the MAX release, which includes a fix for the reported issue.

Updates will be available via the Apple App Store(now), Google Play Store (gradually), and Galaxy App Store (now).
Please note: It may take several days for some users to receive the update notification.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Just got the lastest update - looks like I can export to Instagram again - thanks ! (slight other issue with instagram now removing some of the border but I don't think that's a Lightroom issue)

Yes, @kdhphoto , I’ve been looking at other options, too.  The one image I posted to Instagram over the past 8 weeks was taken with my iPhone and posted through Apple’s Photos app.  It was quick and seamless.  Here's hoping that @Aleke and @Sameer K will have some good news for us and other paid Ligthroom subscribers within the next few days. All we're asking Adobe to do is fix a bug it created in Lightroom mobile app.

Thanks @Maldon Seasalt for continuing to bring this up, I completely agree with you.  In fact I have started to look at other photo editing options as a result, that allow me to post to Instagram, despite the fact that Lightroom in general I feel is the best.  I would like to continue using it, but at this point it's not possible with the issues.  @Sameer K @Aleke  please provide us with some information on the status of the fix.  Thank you.

Hello again, @Aleke and @Sameer K. It's been nearlhy two months since I've been able to post images from Lightroom to Instagram. Others have reported the same problem.

What's frustrating is this was not a problem before the update Adobe issued around the same time period. In the meantime, Lightroom users looking to share their edited images of glorious autumn landscapes and other scenes can't do so because Adobe has failed to right this wrong in a timely, expeditious manner for its paid subscribers.

When will this problem be solved? Do we, as a community of Lightroom users, need to vent our frustrations with Adobe on social media platforms? Or does Adobe plan to fix he problem it released in its late-simmer update?

Thank you for your attention.

@Sameer K same for me, still no ability to post in over 6 weeks and an error message for both the share option AND export option.

This is still an issue for me also (7th October 2025) - was working fine until end of Aug/Sept, now an error message on trying to export to Instagram.  Latest versions of both apps, full permissions.

Glad it is recognised but getting a fix out would be great (well, essential really, for a mobile image editing app of Lightroom's standing).

Thanks

@Aleke and @Sameer K

Would you please provide an expected timeline for this update? I have not been able to post images from Lightroom to Instagram in about 6 weeks. I know others on this chat are having the same probelm. It's disappointing to see Adobe taking so long to address a problem that didn't exist until a recent update. Thanks for your prompt attention,

I tried this but I notice a drop off in quality for my images. Exporting through adobe is the best option.

Hi @Sameer K - actually using the Export As option does not work either, same issue as the Share function.
