P: Lightroom Classic>Edit in PS: Long Delay+Erroneous Error Message opening Ps Beta 2024 25.0

I just recently updated Photoshop Beta to 2024 v25.0 on my Windows 11 machine.

Now when I try to open photos from LR 12.4 using the "edit in...", it hangs up for a time and then comes up saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2024 could not be launched."

When I hit "Ok" it then opens the file in Photoshop 2024.

This happens with every file, even if Photoshop 2024 is already up and running at the time.

This does not happen with 2023 v24.7.

Was this already resolved? Had the same issue so my workaround was to go back to Lightroom Version 12.2.1

Hi this is surely the same issue discussed here. So just downgrade your beta to 24.7 for now and wait with updating back again until the issue is fixed. From what I have seen in the orignal thread linked above it seems all platforms are affected by this.

After updating Photoshop Beta from 24.7 to 25.0, photos from LR Classic 12.4 do not open when using 'Photo > Edit in > Photoshop 2024.' (Note: the name of Photoshop became "Photoshop 2024.") The Photoshop home screen opens, but the file does not appear. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both LR Classic 12.4 and Photoshop Beta 25.0 several times, but it hasn't solved the issue. Please help!

Yes rolling back to a previous version has fixed the issue thank you! Going to see if the next update fixes this

it appers that the issue is with PS 25 beta. I successfully uninstalled it and went back one rev to the stabel 24.7 beta. All's well now.

Question:

Creative Cloud continues to say that there's an update for the beta, which is the 25.0 beta which is causing the problems. How would one know when a bug fix is actually released since the update notice is for the buggy beta 25.0?

Hello there, is there someone who can help me with this specific "bug" ?

I usually open trough lightroom photo in photoshop where I make edits, save it and come back to LR. Today I go with the same way but I see only possible way to "Open in Photoshop 2024" ?? If I choose this option It does nothing "LR is unable to open file for edit" or "Photoshop 2024 could not be launched..". Just btw I don't know there is PS 2024, I still have 2023 and Beta ... but anyway after that error messeage it open the file in beta... but it takes prettz long time and zou can't rly see if is processing to opening photo or not..

Any idea what's going on??

Thanks in advance.

Has anyone else noticed that Lightroom Classic no longer sends photos to photoshop Beta? works fine in regular PS however want to use Generative Fill on my images so it's not a pain to have to export as TIFFS then manually import them into PS Beta

This is very irritating as it slows down our workflow significantly.
The current Photoshop Beta 25.0.0 (with the Generative Crop) release does not open the file when I press the usual Command E or the Edit In, in the menu in LightRoom Classic.
Then after a minute or so I get the message:

  • The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop (Beta) could not be launched.

Then it does open in LR Classic.
Trying to open in Photoshop 24.7.0 from Lightroom Classic does not work either.
With the previous Photoshop Beta 24.7 the files opened very quicky from Lightroom Classic.

I'm working using a Macbook Pro M1 Max with 64 Giga RAM
