P: Photoshop Beta Startup Error (0xc0000142)

Same here. I had 29.9 installed and working for a whole day. Came back the next day and I got this error. Haven't been able to open it since

What I really think this means is that, far from finding a solution that can fix the error, we are told that we must update our machines (which work perfectly and are capable of working perfectly if they would fix the problem).

I have also have no luck running PS beta v25.9.

When Googling this particular Windows error code, I noticed that users complain that the same “shutdown / dialog box with error code ...0142” behavior occurs in Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and Audition, versions 24.1 and later.

Apparently, this happens on older CPUs that don’t support the AVX2 instruction set.

My CPU happens to be one of those older ones.

Based on the info above, I’m guessing that PS beta v25.9 and future stable versions of Photoshop 2024 may no longer run on Windows systems with the old non-AVX2 CPUs...?

On my second PC also with i5 Gen 7 new Beta also works perfect, so I think there is no dependence on the processor generation. Maybe some other issue, but maybe I am wrong.

My Laptop works with Intel i7 8550U and the Beta Version 25.09 runs perfect.

I don't quite understand what you mean. How is the Photoshop issue related to Premiere Pro?

Photoshop Beta 25.9 doesn't work on my PC with i5 Gen 7.
