P: "Adobe Community Help" keeps popping open (Windows)

Adobe Community Help keeps popping open when working within Adobe Photoshop CS5. I'm not sure if I'm doing some sort of shortcut that causes it to open, but sometimes (maybe once instance, during a 40hr week) Adobe Community Help will open in a Window while I am doing stuff in Adobe Photoshop CS5.

I'm not sure what causes it, but I'll close the Community Help window, and then continue working in Photoshop, and it will open again. Only way to keep it from opening back up again is to close and restart Photoshop. This has happened to me on my home PC as well, and in previous versions of Photoshop, if I remember correctly. I am using Windows 7 now, but I think I've had this happen on XP too.

Is it because there are updates available? Is it because I'm doing some sort of weird shortcut that I don't know about?

An example: I was transforming an object (using the mouse, clicking, using shift button while moving the cursor, using the space bar while panning, etc.) It just opened again. Guess it's time to restart Photoshop...

Make sure your CS6 is up to date: http://adobe.ly/PS-Up-To-Date It is fixed in the latest updates for all versions of CS6.

Hi,

There is a bug where occasionally Photoshop (CS6 & has happened on previous versions and different PC's) opens the help website for no reason when bringing up the colour picker. This wouldn't be too bad as it's just a case of closing the tabs, but nearly every time this happens the program crashes and loses any unsaved work. This is an incredibly frustrating bug that has lasted over many variations of the software and really needs to be patched.

The rest of the program is superb, and I wouldn't change it, but please find a fix for this issue.

Thanks,
Richard

Just upgraded to Yosemite on my iMac and now Photoshop works for one opened file, then either the file goes black or when I open the next file, it is corrupted and looks like pieces of other files I have opened. Please help! I need to work!!!

Photoshop crashes via Color Picker window (using now CS6 Extended/Win7), when I click the color and it then occasionally launches a website to Help section and then usually Photoshop crashes. It doesn't seem to matter from where I open the Color Picker (from the under the toolbar or i.e. from via Layer Style window settings). It's quite random to me and doesn't happen every day but sometimes. I think this bug has been there for quite a while already, in CS5.5 I think also.

Hi everyone,

The Photoshop CC 14.2 patch has the fix for this issue. Details are at the following blog post:

The CS6 (13.0.1.3) patch has the fix for this issue. Details are at the following blog post:
http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotco...

For both versions please select " Help -> Updates" to patch Photoshop to the latest version.

I wanted to thank all of our customers again for helping with this fix especially Garconis who started this thread.

Thanks,

Hi Paula,
We are very close to releasing this for Photoshop CC customers. I do apologize for the delay!

Honestly cant wait for the CC fix, cause this is a really annoying problem. Sometimes it opens so many windows that my chrome tend to crash almost instantly.
Glad CS6 has been updated, but I'm paying CC and have to wait even

I don't see the point of switching to Photoshop CC if I can't also switch to Premiere Pro CC since will lose Encore. Adobe makes great products but apparently they have lost touch with their customers wants/needs.

I have a feeling copyright concerns have a hand in the Encore demise. Personally, I highly doubt anyone bootlegging DVD's is going to take the time to author custom menu's. If they had that kind of motivation, they'd get a real job, lol.

There are many features added in CC (which was released this past June, and already had one major update). If you have the subscription, you really should be using the newer version.

Have not decided if I am going to renew next month or not. One of the main reasons I subscribed, besides Photoshop, was to use Encore. Since, from what I understand, it is being ditched, I may downgrade to just a Photoshop subscription instead of the entire suite. Then perhaps use DVD Architect instead of Encore, despite not looking forward to having to learn another new program.
