P: "Adobe Community Help" keeps popping open (Windows)

Adobe Community Help keeps popping open when working within Adobe Photoshop CS5. I'm not sure if I'm doing some sort of shortcut that causes it to open, but sometimes (maybe once instance, during a 40hr week) Adobe Community Help will open in a Window while I am doing stuff in Adobe Photoshop CS5.

I'm not sure what causes it, but I'll close the Community Help window, and then continue working in Photoshop, and it will open again. Only way to keep it from opening back up again is to close and restart Photoshop. This has happened to me on my home PC as well, and in previous versions of Photoshop, if I remember correctly. I am using Windows 7 now, but I think I've had this happen on XP too.

Is it because there are updates available? Is it because I'm doing some sort of weird shortcut that I don't know about?

An example: I was transforming an object (using the mouse, clicking, using shift button while moving the cursor, using the space bar while panning, etc.) It just opened again. Guess it's time to restart Photoshop...

I've seen a few comments regarding the external factors. On my machine:

- No Wacom tablet

- No external plug-ins or add-ons to photoshop

Running Photoshop CS6 extended 64 bit on Windows 7 Professional, service pack 1. Intel Core i7-3770 CPI @ 3.40GHz, 16GB ram, dual monitors, Logitech wireless K750 keyboard, regular Logitech scroll-wheel optical mouse.

- Typical programs that are open during the workday: Chrome Version 23.0.1271.64 m, Illustrator CS6, Photoshop CS6, InDesign CS6, Bridge CS6, Spotify, Windows Snipping Tool. That's it.

I turn off the computer before leaving the office each night.

We really need to see what external factor might be involved.

Why does this happen all the time to some people/machines, and yet not to most people/machines?

What is different about the systems that show this problem?

Today (just now) I've had Photoshop CS6 Extended open for a few hours (at least), with many layers and groups. I went to double-click on a text layer to open the Layer Style window. As soon as I did that, 4 Help tabs opened in Chrome. Luckily nothing else happened within Photoshop this time.

We also have many people running on real windows machines - who haven't seen this problem at all.

Just making a point, I also run Windows out of a VM.

The problem is...it's not a Mac problem from what I can tell. I don't think ANY Mac users have posted that they've had this issue. And running Windows on a VM surely isn't the same as running an actual Windows machine.

I often have multiple versions of Photoshop open for days on my Mac, though I tend to close Photoshop immediately when done on Windows. I always work with layers and when I have more than 10 or so I start grouping them. This is generally my personal workflow, but I also test customer workflows all the time and this leads to some rather unique file configurations. Because I test the ways other people use Photoshop, I have done everything under the sun. I very often even use the customer's file (in many cases this is the ONLY way to get a strange behavior to repeat). Yet this Help issue is not something I've seen in person.

It's extremely frustrating to know that people run into this but to not know why or what we can do to stop it.

More likely is that there is some other factor involved: a plugin, a utility program, some OS setting, etc.

I do web design, so maybe it occurs more frequently when having medium sized canvas' with numerous layers and groups? And when Photoshop has been open for at least a couple hours.

It seems pretty limited to opening the Color Picker or Layer Style is when this behavior occurs.

In this case, it seems that all input has been bonded to the open Help command.

The big question is: where is this command coming from?

I've been trying to replicate the behavior on purpose. Trying to use modifier keys and such while opening the Color Picker to see if I could purposely open a Help window. No luck so far.
