P: Auto scrolling on layers panel when a layer is copied, deleted or added to a folder

Photoshops 2015 layers panel is constantly doing things I wouldn't expect and making me think more that needed. When I drag a layer to the new icon it copies the new layer to the top of my file structure. Now I need to grab it scroll back down and re-find the context I was in. This seems un necessary and I would expect the new layer to appear under the original one.

Every time an action is applied to a layer photoshop auto scrolls the layers panel so that my selected layer is at the very top. This is very distracting and chokes the context in favour of identifying the layer. Every time I do an action on a layer (add to folder, delete...) my very next action is to scroll the layers panel back to where it was. I would expect to have the scroll location stay the same so I can retain the same folder context.

Bump, bump bump bump from me too.

Chris Cox, you have responded to the topic being bumped but not the actual issue. Are you guys at least looking into this or are you hoping that it will go away if its ignored?

As mentioned above there are multiple threads and no response.

Please shed some light on this. It's seriously messed up.

I don't see this as a bump (despite its own statement) as much as yet another person (probably a designer, and not a "computer scientist") that disapproves of this egregious problem with the layers palette.

There is no need to bump topics on this forum.

bump bump bump bump bump. This is either a bug or a terrible feature and I've seen at least 5 threads about this with no response. Really lovely how installing 2015 automatically uninstalled 2014, so I can't even revert until this is fixed.

Can we at least get a response so I know if this is a bug that will be resolved soon, a feature that will be able to be disabled soon, or if I need to permanently revert to a previous version of Photoshop?

Agreed on all posts above. This is SO frustrating. Adobe please fix asap. Really disruptive to my workflow.

This really needs to be resolved ASAP. I work on gigantic documents with intricate layer structures to make complicated elements overlap in the correct way, and it's driving me mad having to repeatedly scroll back up to where I was to get all the layers in a group to interact properly. It's slowing down my workflow by a ridiculous amount and there needs to be an option to turn this off.

I love that undoing things like a brush stroke doesn't take you to another layer anymore. And I like that a layer dropped into a group goes to the top instead of the bottom. But I hate that every little thing scrolls the layer panel so the selected is at the top. Very disorienting and I don't see the point.

Layers panel in Photoshop CC 2015 is acting weirdly. It scrolls automatically whenever I create a new layer, or delete an old one. It's very annoying and confusing. Make it behave as previously, please.

I'm not the only one. Check this thread for a more detailed description of this problem. There are many others (both Mac and PC users) that have this problem.

Been searching for users opinions about this. The workflow with layers has become more frustrating.

Adobe, seriously, the only reason we haven't switched to sketch is we have workers using windows. So start thinking about us, the users and our workflow and not only in adding more functionality.
