P: Can't cmd+tab to web browser (Chrome ver: 16.0.912.75) from CS6 (OSX/10.6.8)

When cmd+tabbing between Photoshop CS6 and Google Chrome, Photoshop document windows remain visual on top (but inactive). The web browser window is called up over other applications, but remains behind Photoshop. The problem seems to only happen when switching to Chrome.

Photoshop ver 13.0.1
Mac OSX ver. 10.6.8
Chrome ver: 16.0.912.75

Please let the Chrome developers know that this bug has returned in the latest Chrome release.

Since the last PS update In End 2015, the Task Switching between Chrome and Photoshop CC 2015.1.1 is not working properly. Happens in OSX 11.11.2 El Captain.

When in switch via CMD-Tab oder per Click on the Chrome Icon, the screen only flickers. It need almost 3 attemps to work.

This is very annoying and slowing my workflow.

My Design colleagues face the same issues.

Any Ideas?

As a workaround this is awesome! I don't normally utilize spaces but now that I know it is just control + arrow it is as easy as command tab.

AND I just realized you can still just use command tab. Even without the glitch I think you just improved my development workflow.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I also experience this and it's extremely frustrating. The workaround I use is that I use multiple desktops via spaces and keep PS and browsers in separate spaces. Seems that the act of sliding between different spaces based on applications prevents this issue from happening.

If it is only happening when Chrome is running, then it's a repeat of the old Chrome bug.

Same issue here when tabbing from Photoshop to the Finder, only the foreground Finder window is in the foreground, the others are kept behind the Photoshop window.

Hmm I just tried this with mixed results. It only displayed one finder window once out of about a dozen times. Had not paid attention to this before so I don't know if it is related.

I will reissue a report but I think it would be helpful if we all did this so Google realizes this is becoming a larger issue.

If the finder window is effected does this mean it could possibly be an OS or Photoshop issue?

I guess we should all report this bug to Google: Open Chrome, go to the wrench top right > Help > Report an issue... I also sent them the url of this thread.

Another thing I noticed was when tabbing to the Finder it only shows one window, even if there are multiple windows open. Can you guys see if the same thing happens? It could be related.

Amber, could you reissue a report to Google?

Thanks for the quick response Amber. Guess we'll just have to live with it and hope it works itself out 😞
