P: Color overlays don't change correctly with layer comp switch

Example: If you're using a color overlay to change a highlighted state with that effect tied to the layer comp, opening the PSD fresh results in the color overlays not being what was set in the layer comp.

Check if the image mode you are working with is correct.
I encountered the same problem and on checking found the image mode had automatically changed to greyscale.
Worked for me.

No one seems to be monitoring this thread.
How can such an annoying bug go unhandled by Adobe QA team for such a long time?

I'm having the exact same issue with Photoshop CC 2015.1.1
So far, this bug hasn't been fixed yet (A year has passed since this bug was reported!).

Very frustrating.

Good call. Now that you mention it, I've been clearing the style every time. That workaround makes sense. Is there a difference between clicking the eye to turn off the effect in the Layers palette and clicking the checkbox in the Layer Style menu?

Hi Matt,

I can reproduce the problem you're reporting.

As a workaround or different method for using Layer Comps with Layer Effects can you try this out:

1) Apply the Color Overlay to all the layers you will be using for normal and highlight states.
2) Turn off the Effect visibility of those layers in the Layer panel to setup your first Layer Comp, then save.
3) change Effect visibility again for next Layer Comp state, then save.
4) etc.

I'm logging a bug for the conditions you have so we can investigate what's going wrong.

regards,
steve

Yeah. Same version. That video was on 2014.2.0 but this issue dates back to CC (2013)
