P: Convert to Video Timeline option missing - Apple M1 devices

I am not able to select anything but "Create Frame Animation" in the Timeline. I am trying to create a Video Timeline, but not using Frame animation. This option isn't in the bottom left or top right of the Timeline menu.

I have tried resetting my preferences, uninstalling and re-installing, creating a new document, and converting all layers to smart objects, and none of those have worked. I have a macbook pro with macOS Big Sur version 11.2.3 with an Apple M1 chip.

Thank you for the help!

2 updates and another year gone by and Adobe still hasn't fixed this. Using Photoshop in Rosetta is not a fix to the problem, why am I paying for a sunscription to use the latest version when the latest version doesn't supply the necessary tools for me to do my job?

Im trying to make a simple future city animation in photoshop but the video timeline no longer seems to be an option. The only option I get when I open a new timeline window is a Frame Animation.  I can see the video timeline option on the lower lefthand side but its grayed out. Ive made several future city animations before but have never had this issue.  I have an M1 Mac so maybe thats it?

If you're on a new Apple M1 processor machine, video isn't current supported. It's coming in the future. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-for-apple-silicon.html Run in Rosetta until native support is available for video.

LaMiss, unfortunately this is a new problem, looking just like an older one. The old solutions won't work. The solution is: use Rosetta. Let us know if you have no idea what that means.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I've been trying to figure this out for hours to no avail, and your trip fixed it in minutes. Can't tell you how much I appreciate it.

My computer is an m1 mac, I can’t create a video timeline in ps, and I can’t open video files with ps, showing that mp4 files cannot be recognized

This is a known problem, listed by Adobe in their article about features that are not yet working on Apple Silicon:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-for-apple-silicon.html

If you need to use video in Photoshop on an Apple Silicon Mac now, the temporary solution is to restart Photoshop in the Apple Rosetta translation layer. All features will become available, but it will be running translated Intel code, not native Apple Silicon code.

Maybe later Adobe will add the video features to the Apple Silicon-native code.

Do anybody know how to import my mp4 files onto photoshop or premier pro on a mac? I've tried to use converts online and nothing is helping.

Are you on an M1 Mac?

Like many others, I open Photoshop 2021 under Rosetta in order to get the Timeline working. The thing is that "selection/Select Subject" crashes when running Photoshop under Rosetta. Saving and closing all documents in order to reset Photoshop to open without Rosetta is obviously time-cconsideration ming. Are there any other workarounds to avoid this?
I am running the latest updated version on a macbook M1

buggy version indeed: Trying t move the photoshop window from one monitor to another makes the work area empty.
