I have updated CC 2015, both Lightroom and Photoshop. I can open Photoshop and can open a photo. Every time I close out a photo, Photoshop crashes with the message, Adobe Photoshop CC has stopped working. It will now close.

I can't use the new update;

Go to edit>preferences>performance and uncheck 'use graphics processor'

I have updated my PSCC and now every time I close a file, PS "Stops Working". I have more than 50 photos to edit and I can't keep re opening PS every time I do another photo.

So YES I AM SHOUTING,

I was finally ale to implement your original suggestion to disable the graphics option. PS had saved five open images. So each time I started it, five images appeared. By saving each one to C:\TEMP, when I closed the application, no attempt was made to CLOSE that image, but when I exited the program all the other images were still there. Repeated the process until no images were opened when PS was started. When I disabled the graphics option, and closed CLEANLY for the first time. When when PS restarted, I could open an image, edit it, and force close it without any error.

Thank you for your assistance.

Every time I close a document in Photoshop (every since the up grade) windows explorer reports that there is a problem and emergency closes it automatically. Nothing gets saved, my presets are being erased before I can set them, and Photoshop will not recognize PNG files at all.

No need to provide more information. For the time being (until we can get a real fix delivered to customers) please use the workaround of disabling "Use Graphics Processor" in performance preferences.

If your system is stuck re-opening recovered files after you crash, you should delete the preferences in Photoshop by holding shift-cntl-alt during launch. Then go to Edit > Preferences > Performance and uncheck "Use Graphics Processor". Before opening any other files, quit and re-launch the app.

I'll post here once the fix is delivered to the public.

Thanks everyone for your help with this,

Mine says "Version ^0"... !?!

I use the French release of PS CC2015, though. Does it matters?

I have tried the GPU work around but since I can't get a good close it keeps resetting it. It also keeps re-opening "recovered" versions of the files I had open - which I believe is why I can't get a good exit. Please advise
