When opening photoshop file in photoshop 2020, empty debug.log is created in the same path. Annoying. Anyone working on that issue?

I too am having this issue and can't find a work around answer.   Anyone have suggestions?  With the exact steps you took?

My issue got fixed by the Adobe tech but when I was getting the debog logs it didn't matter if I opened Photoshop first. Anytime I made any edit at all, then saved the jpeg, a debug log went into the folder I saved the file to. Sometimes I was going from Camera Raw into Photoshop and other times I opened Photoshop, then brought images in through the file>open process.

When I open Photoshop by opening a file first that then opens Photoshop, this creates a debug file, and my customers cannot open the saved jpg. But if I open Photoshop first, then the file, (either double clicking on the file or the Open menu) no debug file and my customers can open the saved jpg file. Not a big workaround, but I hope it gets fixed soon.

I always do that but now I have this problem.

A workaround that someone posted in the Adobe Community forums is to have Photoshop open and access files from the Open dialogue box. Don't double-click on files in Explorer to open them.

I've tried this out on my device and it's working for me so far.

It's not ideal, but it does appear to bypass the issue until an update that fixes the issue. The 21.2.3 update did not.

I'd love to but I can't. I gave the tech remote access to my computer and watched as he very quickly made changes to my Photoshop preferences, then changed some of the permissions on my computer. I believe he even made a couple of registry changes. It was all too fast for me to follow and I'm not enough of a tech geek to understand all of what he did.

Care to share what the fix or workaround is? That's kind of what this forum is for...

Stay in the phone tree until you get to tech support, probably somewhere in India.
