P: Emoji glyphs being trimmed below baseline (macOS Big Sur)

Hi, I have been having this issue for a while now...it's been an issue on Photoshop 2020 and now on 2021 as well. Bottoms of emojis are being cut off, I have tried changing the baseline shift and other Character settings but nothing seems to fix it. I am running the macOS Big Sur public beta (11.0.1) and Photoshop 22.0.0. From what I can tell a solution used to be turning on Legacy Compositing under Performance settings but it seems that option has been removed. I appreciate any help!

This should be fixed by the latest releases of macOS.

Apple is aware of the problem, they are working for a fix. For the time being, please use emojiOne font ( smaller emoji character set)

To those who like me can't make it to work with the workarounds mentioned before, try rotating the layer for about 15 degrees. That's the only way I managed to make it work.

When you increase the font size the emoji gets cut off on the bottom

Reads like he's confusing Illustrator with Photoshop. There is no "Create Outlines" in PS AFAIK. There's "Create Paths" and "Convert To Shapes" but those are not the same thing.

That said, emojis are now working ok for me. Only thing that's different for me lately is I'm on the Big Sur public beta program.

Hi! I have a workaround for this...

Just do this:

Type the emoji and then deselect the emoji text box...

Now right-click on the text box and select "Create Outlines"...

This way Apple Color Emoji based emojis can be used without the glyph line cutting the emoji...
