After latest update Photoshop 21.1.0 hangs while trying to use the Shawdows/Highlights tool. Spinning beachball appears and you have to Force Quit the app. Happens everytime.

MacOS 10.14.6 - PS 21.1.0

Same crash for me - PS Shadows/Highlight Tools crashes as soon as I change anything. I must PS force to stop. Same problem on a laptop with MacOS Sierra.

This problem occurs for me as well on Max OS 10.13.6.  As Christopher mentioned typing a value works but sliders do not.

Additionally all sliders in images-adjustments no longer update in realtime. If I adjust the slider it refreshes after letting go of the mouse.

I am getting the same hanging on Shadows and Highlights on an iMac running 21.1.0 under Mojave 10.14.6 OS and also on a latest version fully spec'd Mac mini al.so running 21.1.0 under Mojave10.14.6 and it happens whatever image I am attempting to edit with the jpg. images originating on Olympus, Panasonic and Sony cameras. This is a definite bug.

After further experimentation I have found that the hanging only happens if you use the sliders in Shadows and Highlights. If you enter percentages in the boxes the adjustments work without causing Photoshop to hang.

So the bug relates to the sliders. It needs resolving asap.

I deleted PS 21.1.0, deleting all the custom settings, restarting the iMac, then reinstalling PS 21.1.0 without reinstalling any custom settings

Here the links to a shared folder on Adobe Cloud: https://adobe.ly/2SQdbWM

This .psd file blocks PS 21.1.0 if using Image / Settings / Dark tones / High tones : https://adobe.ly/32i6K1R

In the set of presets deposited here, there is one that causes the whole chain to derail, in particular what concerns us here and also the filter rendered lighting:https://adobe.ly/2Vf1FG8

Not need of file test, create a new file simply, for instance with the model A4, draw something and speed up function, move a cursor and there the multicoloured ball is very busy, and at the end of some minutes, PS does not answer any more.

Copie of my system parameter from PS Help menu :

PS 21.0.3 https://adobe.ly/38OQdoT

PS 21.1.0 https://adobe.ly/3a5TIrh

Attention, the version 21.1.0 in summer installed via application ADOBE Creative Cloud by keeping defines them existent of version 21.0.3

The disc system where is installed PS is in APFS... Are not there files hide which would not be replaced during the installation of the updating?

Getting a file it crashes with so I can reproduce it will be best. If it locks up and you have to force quit, the log may not have what we need in it.

Will a crash log file help you guys? I have the one from this morning's occurrence. I've since backgraded to 21.0.3, but can give you the crash log.

It *does* seem to be image specific, meaning after I force quit & reopen the same image, it locks up again (a Getty jpg, in this case). Works fine with other images. Bitdepth doesn't seem to matter.

Yep, exactly like that. I downgraded to the previous version since I really need that tool.
