P: Hit area for closing folders harder to hit

Thank our robot creators... the long nightmare is over. Seriously, this will save me so much time per day.

Please fix this quickly, this is very annoying

So glad to hear this. It’s the little things like this that make me crazy. Do you know how many times I open/close Layer folders in a given day? It must be 1000! (But my clicks have now doubled to 2000.) 😞

There is, in a way. I've encountered this, too, and what works is if the group has NO targeted layer within it. Then you can close it with a single click. It's having a targeted layer INSIDE the group you want to close that forces you to first select the group layer, then click again to close it.

I'm kind of wondering if the change came with the "fix" to counting layers in the Info panel. It used to count layers with layer groups inaccurately. They fixed it this version so right now I'm looking at 22 Layers, 5 Groups, and that's the right count. Did that fix  break group layer behavior?

Seems like since PS 2017 there is no possibility to collapse an unselected group of layers.
To collapse a group I have to select it at first, and only after that Photoshop will let collapse it.

No hitbox error for me, not possible on or around the icon 😕😕

I haven't noticed the change in Yosemite or El Capitan. It's always been the case for me, anyway, that you have to actually get the cursor on top of the icon, and if you're in the empty space below it or a little too close to the folder icon, it ignores opening/closing the folder.

I agree that making the hit area a little bigger would be helpful, since you can easily enough target the folder just by targeting the group layer. And/or Adobe could give us a custom keyboard shortcut that toggles open/close layer group so we don't have to rely on hitting icons that keep getting smaller as our screen resolutions get bigger.

I noticed this too in Win 10. It seems to be more related to the 'hit' area on the expand carrot icon. I can replicate by selecting a different layer, then clicking just below the carrot icon. It doesn't seem to be a 'bug' per-se so much as the icon is just a little harder to hit now.
