P: LrC (11.0.1) Edit in PS2022 fails because Photoshop could not be launched - Error Message

Since updating my subscription to Adobe for Photographers (Photoshop & Lightroom) I am having an issue when launching Photoshop 2022 from Lightroom v11.

If I right click on the image I'm working on in Lightroom and select 'Edit in Photoshop 2022' I am asked whether or not I want to edit a copy or the original (as I would expect).

If I select "Edit Original" everything works to plan, the image opens in Potoshop and I can proceed.

However:

If I select either "Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments" or "Edit a Copy" I have an issue.
I can see the copy being created on the Film Strip at the bottom of the Lightroom screen, Photoshop starts up and stops at the launch screen but the image fails to open in photoshop.

If I wait for 2 or 3 minutes I recieve an error message in Lightroom: "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2022 could not be launched"

If I then select 'OK' in the error message the image immediately opens in Photoshop and I can work away.

This morning an followup update to Photoshop 2022 (to Ver: 23.0.1) was installed and it made no difference.
This afternoon Camera Raw also had a followup update to Version 14.0.1 and it has made no difference.
The problem is still there.

Is this a bug or is there a some way I can fix the problem.

I'm using a Windows PC - Running Win 10 and it has 24gb of RAM

I did go to AMD Radeon settings since it is a separate graphics card, and changed almost all settings to Use application settings. Then in the Windows OS, I went to graphics and took Photoshop out of there, but left Lightroom with high performance. I went back to AMD Radeon settings to switch graphics and made sure it was AMD Radeon for Photoshop. Since the update yesterday, it seems to be working, but have not had to experience a new image in Lightroom and send to Photoshop to test it out. I still open Lightroom first, then Photoshop, then import new images, then send to PS. I can let you know as soon as I am in a new bunch of images.

Same issue here: Windows 10 21H2, LrC 11.0.1, PS 23.0.2. Tried all suggestions I found on this and other threads but none of them worked. The entire integration between LrC and PS is behaving differently. In prior releases, when you tried to edit a RAW (.NEF in my case) in PS, it opened in PS as a RAW and a TIF is not created until you save in PS. Now, when you click OK after you get that error message (in about a minute or more), then it creates the TIF first and then loads that into PS rather than the RAW.

Update:

Photoshop 2022 updated this evening to V23.0.2 apparently with some bug fixes. Unfortunatly the bug outlined in this threasd has not been fixed.(My Lightroom Classic is currently at v11.0.1)

To me this is a signicant fault and by all accounts it is causing problems for a considerable number of Lr/Ps users. Surely someone at Adobe must consider it worthy of investigation.

Adobe, please get back to us and let us know what is happening this problem and when we can expect a fix....

After crashing again, I did go to AMD Radeon settings and changed all of them to Use application settings. I did leave Open CL on, and PS opens but there are still things I cannot do. They aren't greyed out, but nothing happens when I do them.

I cannot do this, but there is an update waiting from AMD. However, Dell will NOT let me do this. So I have changed settings in the Radeon settings to have each controlled by the application, only in Photoshop 2022. However, I cannot do some things like filter/oil paint: nothing happens. So, actually I am still a little stuck.

For an unrelated reason I just installed a new video card and drivers and now this issue seems resolved.

Another observation, from the moment I select to edit in photoshop, it takes 100s to show the message "The file could not be edited because Photoshop 2022 could not be launched". After pressing ok on the message it shows "Preparing file for editing" on the top left in lightroom, once that is complete it opens the image in photoshop. I'm working with Nikon Raw files (.nef extension).

If i try to open the a tif file to edit in photoshop from lightroom, it opens fine.

I've also tried your suggestion, opened Photshop first and then tried to have it edit a photo from Lightroom but the imagewouldn open link Photoshop (as before) until the error message was received and OK'ed in Lightroom..

It does not, it switches to Photoshop, but nothing happens.
