I've just downloaded the new photoshop update (22.01) and I noticed there is no classic red area when you change Brush size and feathering (when using keyboard shortcut OPTION+CONTROL).

it is quite frustrating

It's not showing up for me even after I hit the check for updates in the help menu.  This is driving me bat Sh*# Crazy!

With the update to version 22.1.1 the problem is fixed.

The red preview is working again.

Thank you guys for fixing it.

With me he indeed makes a duplicate. He takes the filename and puts “ copy” behind it. I’m saving on Synology NAS but never had this issue with older Photoshop versions. But as said, when I flatten the image before saving then this problem does not occur. Only happens when leaving the layers as they are before saving a jpg.

"...When Photoshop asks to replace he makes a duplicate instead of actually replacing it ..."

Are you sure ?

Either I did not understand your point or I am wrong.

I tried and it worked as before !

@Antonio_Correia

I still have saving issues when saving with replacing a .jpg (or maybe other formats too, didn't check that yet)  > When Photoshop asks to replace he makes a duplicate instead of actually replacing it (VERY ANNOYING). At the pop up screen you have the checkmark "as a copy". People were saying that this couldn't be unchecked so it automatically saved a duplicate/copy. BUT, this seems only to happen when you have a LAYERED file, once you flatten the file then you can uncheck this option!! In earlier versions of photoshop you could skip the step of flattening and directly save it. Now it only works when you first flatten your file. So Adobe, also FIX THIS ASAP, YOU DON'T DESERVE MY MONEY, the more innovation "evolves" the more buggy the software (in general) seems to become. In the past (where software were already complex as well) less bugs seemed to be manifesting because of more thorough testing. It's a disease/symptom of BIG companies being less "connected" and more "indifferent" with their costumers and Adobe is not the only one!

Ahhh... That did it. It showed an Illustrator this morning but didn't see the others until using the help menu. Updating now. Thanks

Did you try going to Help > Check for Updates... from the Creative Cloud desktop app?
