P: Not quitting, need to force quit

Since updating yesterday Photoshop no longer quits - just the spinning rainbow wheel of doom!

Have to force quit every time.

 

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep still having the same issues, as you've found seems OK if only used for a very short time, but any long/heavy use will not close without forcing quit. I thought that I had solved the problem by switching the scratch disk from external drive to system disk, but that turned out to be a fools paradise. I would switch back to PS2020 but chose the wrong option on update (keep old programme) won't be doing that again!!

I'm having the same issue with both PS and Indesign - freezes on quit and spinning beach ball appears. Have to force quit every time. Seems like it only happens when PS has been left open for awhile.. If I open a file, do a quick edit, and close it, it seems to quit properly.

That's it ... Given up with PS2021 and reverted to last version. The latest version should not have been distributed with so many issues.

Can you run a test? Start by going to the Activity Monitor and force quit anything you see with DLMS running to eliminate ghost processes.

Then try this test. Open Ps while holding the shift key to disable plug-ins and then try again to see if you have a plug-in interfering with video.

PS 2021 on Mac OS 10.15.7. Opened a video animation file in Photoshop. Halfway through the first play through it froze. Had to Force Quit. Then tried relaunching from CC app manager and it never fully came up but the app thinks it is open. Cannot Force Quit (any way I try) the Force Quit window doesn't see it as not responding. However, the app icon in the dashboard does. Can't restart my system to try and clear the issue because it sees PS as open and says to Force Quit.... Catch 22.

Help?!?

In the last few days PS seems to through slow patches too - plus slow response keystrokes in Bridge and Photoshop. 

e.g. Yesterday I deleted an image in Bridge and it took around 4 seconds to respond.

Same when I try and save images in Photoshop - nothing happens for a few seconds before it says "Saving" in the bar at the bottom. Something strange happening!

We're having the same issue with Photoshop 2021 not closing. Also yesterday it wa s eating up all sytem memory and only had a 20Mb file open! Seriously unimpressed with this version of PS.
