P: Pen tool lags

No, they don't need that much more in system resources. Photoshop CC runs about the same or faster than older versions for most people.

No, no any plugins installed just clean Photoshop CC, anyway for me it is problem with optymalisation. Generally every app from CC set works much slower than my old Cs5. And i understand that each new program need more an more to work. But patches are just essential element of the interface. And same function works fine in Illustrator and InDesign.

I checked a few different configurations, some have this problem, some do not. Generally i have no clue why it is laggy on some PC's and some works fine.

CS5.5 doesn't use the video driver the same way that CC does (CC uses more). Did you update the driver from the GPU maker's website, or Microsoft (big mistake)?

Bad news...problem is back and nothing I do will make it go away. This is driving me nuts!

It can't strictly be a video driver or admin issue though because I have been running CS5.5 for years...no issues. There is something not playing nice together.

The fact that it is different in 32 bit, and has a pattern like that, probably means it is some sort of video driver issue. Yes, administrator could have something to do with it, especially if you have different settings or utilities running.

OK update. This is really weird. After running the regular PS and then going back to the 64 version, the problem has gone away. I am seeing it respond as it should. This is very weird because I tried everything to fix this. I updated all my drivers, restarted my PC many times over and nothing helped! It never dawned on me to try the other version of PS.

So this is exactly what I did (hopefully it helps someone else):
1. I started up regular PS CC x32\
2. I opened a new file at default photoshop size preset
3. I started clicking away with the pen tool and saw the inconsistent response as mentioned above.
4. I closed it down then decided to startup PS CC x64 by right clicking on the PS icon and running as adminstrator (thinking this might have something to do with it). Sure enough when I did it like this, the problem had completely disappeared. But apparently when you run as admin, you cannot import any images. weird.
5. I closed it down then booted up regular...still working perfectly! I don't know if running the 32PS first helped or if booting up as admin did it. But something along those steps fixed the problem.

No plugins at all. Processor is Intel 8-core i7-2600K @ 3.40GHZ. I have two Dell 30" monitors running with Nvidia Geforce GTX 670. Running 64bit Windows 7.

Now I did a test that had an interesting result. I ran regular Photoshop CC instead of the 64bit version and I noticed that it worked much better...however still not perfect. Every 1 out of three clicks has a slow anchor running regular Photoshop. Meaning, most of the time the anchors are showing up immediately but then a slow one comes and then fast again.

However in PS CC 64 they are all very slow to respond to the mouse clicks.

We haven't been able to reproduce a slowdown.

Do you have any third party plugins? Have you tried disabling them?
