P: Photoshop 22:0: Text selecting/editing UI not displaying in CMYK, LAB modes

When I select the text or try to edit some text in a CMYK file it doesn't show anything showing whether or not I selected that text.

I can edit normally, but without this information it gets a little complicated to know what I'm selecting or not

@HugoM I opened a PDF file, which was in grayscale mode and quickly discovered this text bug anomaly. SMH

Switching to RGB mode allowed me to enter text as usual with no issue. Of course, when it came to saving the file, PS made a copy of it rather than overwrite the file. Another issue sure, but these instances really inhibit productivity.

Hard to fathom how these software bugs get through the beta process. Nonetheless they are PITA and a huge slow down of work flow. SMH

Yes that's exactly my experience, too.

To elaborate: reverting to the previous (ps2020) version fixes the bug.

And this bug seems to happen on big documents with many layers and large file size.
I.e. the cursor works fine on a new file, or a simple file with just a few layers.

The cursor bug didn't occur on all text layers of my document, just some (and it was very consistent about which layers).

Changing the font, or moving the problem text layer to the front didn't fix it, either.

My build was also: Adobe Photoshop Version: 22.0.0 20201006.r.35 x64 as well.

Same here - Photoshop version 22.0.0 20201006.r.35  x64

Not only affects cursor - I can no longer see the selection when dragging over a block of text, nor can i see the handles when text is converted to Paragraph Text...

This is a significant bug that renders it unusable for me as well. I had to revert to the previous build (v21).

Didn't do anything for me either. Tried on a couple of pcs and macs. no luck.

Got the same Problem on 30 computers. 18 macs on catalina and 12 Windows 10 Pro PCs. It is extremly disappointing that even simple tools break now regularly. Quality of Photoshop surely is in a downward spiral. Pleas fix this ASAP.

I tried that too, no joy.

I have found that creating a new RGB doc whilst your CMYK doc is open solves the problem.

Try the solution from *Shanay Butler below: Edit > Preferences > General then click "Reset Preferences on quit."  That just worked for me.
