P: Photoshop 22.0: Where is Line Weight/Width and Pixels options?

I'm having trouble using the Line Tool in PS 22.0.0.

How do I set the width/weight of the line? In PS 21 there was a "Weight" option along the top bar, but I don't see that anymore. Am I missing it? Or did it move?

This might be a separate issue, but the lines I'm drawing are not showing up. I have a fill color and stroke color selected, but when I make a line, I don't see it. I just see a blue outline of where it is... the same that might happen if I made a "path" instead of a "shape."

I just need to make a line with a width/weight of 20px.

you guys really need to incorporate your community input before removing features like this. I depend on this pen tool width and varity of color chocies. what graphics program in this day and age limits user colors to 10? Did you allow some non-artist to make that decision? You've restricted it so much that it's useless.

SANFRANSICO ADOBE IS OK BANNING GAS LAWNMOWERS AND THE PERCENTAGE LINE TOOL ARROW

Yes, it is now official, adobe says "WE KNOW WHAT YOU NEED" and are not going to restore EVER, the percentage arrow line tool functionality. They promised it would be fixed and they broke that promise. To add insult to Pelosi-injury, they uninstalled the Photoshop 21 that had the percentage line tool feature. We all knew this was coming... enjoy your electric lawn mowers!!!

Honestly this wouldn't surprise me.  These bigger than thou companies don't give a D* about the users so long as the money keeps pouring in.

I have mine specifically set NOT to update, and they've gone around it and updated.  So be careful to keep an eye on your version number.  Luckily I got back to it, for now.  I wouldn't be surprised if they removed that capability to that eventually too.  Please don't let them take that idea if they haven't already.

Dying waiting for someone to come up with something equal to this at a better price.  Tired of these monopolies running our lives for $$ we don't have.

LINE TOOL: PERCENTAGE ARROW SIZE STILL NOT RESTORED.

An inside source has informed me that Photoshop DOES NOT PLAN on RESTORING the line tool fully and once the passive sheep give up complaining (which has now happened, they will delete it altogether again. I will not be moving off of version photoshop 21 because I use the line tool so much in my workflow. Of course San Francisco values means, they don't care what their choices cost you in money and time because they know what is best for you. The decision to remove the line tool and percentage arrows is likely an environmental or green new deal agenda. In the end, THEY DON'T CARE and THEY ARE NOT GOING TO RESTORE THE PERCENTAGE ARROW FUNCTION OF THE LINE TOOL. Perhaps Nancy Pelosi sent them all a case of her designer ice cream.

I think all they have to do it add the % option back and it works the way is always did.

JUNE UPDATE: LINE TOOL STILL BROKEN.

I guess San Francisco values are here to stay. Life without the old line tool is over. This is the new normal. I will keep using PS version 20 until it is fixed

@mark_dahm

I think this is the problem... changing the line tool to behave like 'other vector tools'.

Unless I'm mistaken, the line tool predated vector tools in PS. It was originally a pixel tool.

So the idea that making it like other line tools is justified isn't much different to saying lets make the selection tool vector because we can now convert vectors to selections, therefore it's a vector tool.

It would suggest there's a gap between the current dev's knowledge of how the app is used, and how it's actually used in the field.

^^^THIS!!!^^^ A MILLION TIMES THIS!!!!

I have made this statement/request/plea countless times, but it just gets completely ignored. Needless to say, version 22.x has been out for about seven months, and I am still using 21.x. This should not be that difficult.

Hi Mark (@mark_dahm )

Would it be possible to also restore the percentage option for the Arrowhead width & length (see attached image from PS 21.2.1)?

Percentages are much more useful than the absolute pixels option in the latest version, as the arrowhead rescales proportionally to the line thickness.

Whereas right now, each time I change the line thickness I need to readjust the arrowhead width & length, which is quite annoying.

Percentage option available in PS 21.2.1:

You had me at 73 EVERs.

Not sure which version you are working on, or what aspect of the line tool degradation is wearing you the most, but we've had a number of releases now where we've been restoring the functionality, and it's clear the original change missed the mark, at this point. Sorry for the interruption, and I hope the current version has the attributes you need for your work.

For what it's worth, the width control was not removed, it was changed to work like all vector line tools, as a stroke. Not unprecedented, but in hindsight not helpful for many folks.

Props on the GIF work, too. *Manuel Orendain There were a few days there where that hit the mark.
