P: Photoshop 22.0: Where is Line Weight/Width and Pixels options?

I'm having trouble using the Line Tool in PS 22.0.0.

How do I set the width/weight of the line? In PS 21 there was a "Weight" option along the top bar, but I don't see that anymore. Am I missing it? Or did it move?

This might be a separate issue, but the lines I'm drawing are not showing up. I have a fill color and stroke color selected, but when I make a line, I don't see it. I just see a blue outline of where it is... the same that might happen if I made a "path" instead of a "shape."

I just need to make a line with a width/weight of 20px.

@mark_dahm

Please... pretty please... this was the very most tool I used in Photoshop. And now it's gone and I'm very sad. I agree with ciellchan - it has to do exactly what the old tool did. Even if you make a new tool that's a duplicate of the old tool - - need this functionality back ASAP!! My LIFE depends on it... 😉

@mark_dahm The loss of the pixel line tool is beyond frustrating and aggravating for my workflow. I echo Kaz Vorpal's requirements above.

Ah you are right! Though if you return to forum page it shows in blue "official solution" which caught my eye and nerves 🙂 Underneath it reads also acknowledged... 🙂

I would be back to 2019 as well but I don't know how to get such old versio. All my CC shows in old versions is 2020 😞

The label I see is "Acknowledged".

And I agree there is no working solution whatsoever (at least for what I used it for: to create a path with a fixed width).

I'm back to PS CC 2019 for now.

Why is this thread labeled to have "official solution"?

There is no working solution. Solution would be to test updates before releasing. And stop inventing the wheel again, line tool was just fine as it was.

When will we get working line tool back? Also why does this forum have so horrible UI? Quoting other users is really hard. On the other hand the forum experience is pretty consistent with the latest Photoshop experience.

Continue with these workflow interrupting bloat updates as you are and the Photoshop will have no users in 10 years.

Hello, this new Photoshop 2021 is a crazy story! Impossible to simply make a 2px thick red line with a 2px white outline ... Between colleagues we exchange macros, not everyone has the same version of Photoshop and here I am the only one who can not work. I need a video to understand how I have to work and make a "simple" line from one point to another.

Here's my workaround:

Make sure your line is set to be centered on the path. It's most likely set per default as "inside" of the path, and that's why you cannot see the straight line when drawing it. By changing the stroke on the path of the line, this problem goes away.

I've made an illustration, just to make it simple to see what needs to be changed and, when inside the path is a good thing to use (when doing exact designs). As this problem is no problem when working with closed paths, such as rectangles or free forms that are closed.

Hope this helps!

Same issue here. Lines don't change weight. Stroke works as long as you change the stroke to center or outside. Working around this with rectangle for now.

Can you provide a screenshot or video or what you're seeing? All the line settings I click on stick with the setting I type in.
