P: Photoshop 23.3 opens images with everything in white color.

Hey!

Just updated my Photoshop to 23.3 version. And when I'm trying to open any RGB file - it opens with all layers colored in white color. Seems like RGB is not active at all.

IF I transfer it into CMYK - all good.

Windows 10 Home.

Below is the print screen of RGB file turned into CMYK. Cuz I was unable even to make a printscreen in RGB.

I updated photoshop today, but it hasn't worked since. If I create a layer on the base image, the image disappears and I only see a plain white sheet. What could have happened? Thanks for the reply! Renata

To anyone experiencing this issue:

We'd greatly appreciate if you can send over System Info (Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply). Please also see if updating your drivers solves the issue. If it does, let us know. This helps developers diagnose the cause and potentially solve the problem for other customers.

In the long term, you'll want to have GPU compositing on for performance reasons. It is a brand new feature and bugs on some devices or drivers are not surprising, so anything that helps solve these odd cases will ultimately benefit everyone.

Hi,

Sorry you're running into this issue. In 23.3 we introduced GPU compositing, which might be the cause of your issue. Can you try disabling GPU compositing in the performance preferences and see if the issue goes away? The checkbox is disable is at Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings > GPU compositing. To disable, you just need to uncheck the box and hit OK on both windows. There's no need for a restart.

If you are seeing this issue, can you please share your system info (Help > System Info)? We'd like to know what configuration you're using. Thanks.

Layer duplication fails with teh latest version of Photoshop

Version : 23.3

Steps to bug:

1. open a jpg image (any),

2. duplicate layer,

3. the newly created layer is displayed empty (filled with bkgd color I suppose) instead of displaying the exact content of the bkgd layer.

I reinstalled the previuos version.

Hello,

I have a bug when I open an image in Photoshop 2022, the first action I do such as duplicate the layer or create a new layer, the image turns white. I tried on several photos, several image formats, uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop, restarted the computer and the application several times but nothing worked. Do you have a solution please?

Hi,

Photoshop updated today and when I try to edit, add text, add a layer or do anything to the initial image, the image goes white on the display.

Instead of seeing text over my image, I see nothing but a white screen. If I make the text layer invisible I still see a white screen.

The layers are there and when I export it, it exports as a low res. jpg with the text and layers showing but very low quality. What is going on here?

App version: 23.3

Would you mind sharing your workflow? Did you try re-installing the application?

It started after the latest update, correct?

Can you try disabling GPU compositing in the 'Performance' preferences and see if that helps?

You need to uncheck the box and hit OK on both windows to disable it.

hi! my ps had a white layer over everything i openend after today's update. i think i fixed this, the layer is gone now but the picture, psd or anything else looks pixelated now? it was working fine yesterday. now even a cutout that was saved as a psd file looks totally pixelated, screencaps too. does anyone know if it's a bug or how to fix this? thank you!!
