P: Photoshop 27.10: "Edit in Photoshop" from Lightroom Classic & Lightroom Desktop does not load image

Since today’s Photoshop 27.10 update, the “Edit in Photoshop” command in Lightroom Classic 15.5.1 is not working anymore for me. Photoshop opens automatically as before (if it’s not open yet) but no image is being loaded. Downgrading Photoshop to 27.9.1 resolves the issue and the “Edit in Photoshop” functionality is back to normal. I also tried to change the external editing file format from TIFF to PSD or PSB but this didn’t make any difference. Anyone else facing the same issue?

I’m running macOS Tahoe 26.6.2. Closing and re-opening LRC and PS didn’t solve the problem, rebooting the machine also didn’t show any effect.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the detailed reports and reproductions here. It has been really helpful in isolating the issue quickly. I’ve filed this for the engineering teamto investigate and prioritize.

In the meantime, here are confirmed workarounds:

Downgrade to Photoshop 27.9.1 via the Creative Cloud app (Other versions > 27.9.1).
Alternatively: Temporarily disable Denoise in Lightroom Classic before sending to Photoshop, then re-apply back in Lightroom, or it using Camera Raw as a filter inside Photoshop.

We understand this disrupts a core editing workflow and appreciate your patience. We'll update this thread as we have more information.

In Lightroom Classic 15.5.1, “Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments” is selected, but Photoshop 27.10.0 opens the original, unedited 16-bit TIFF instead of a copy with my Lightroom edits applied.

When I have Denoise or Raw Details selected/ticked in Lightroom 2026, It will not then allow me to load Photoshop using the “Edit in Lightroom” option. This has been ongoing for a few weeks now and has not been resolved by Adobe.

I would like this to be fixed, and to be able to have Denoise and Raw Details on when I edit in Lightroom rather than creating “Smart Object” etc. I like simplicity.

It has been annoying that it doesn't work, I think since the last MacOS 26.7 Update and not fixed even now with MacOS 27.

I am using Lightroom Classic Version 15.5.1 and Photoshop Version 27.10

photos do not open from Ligthtroom to Photoshop if denoise has been applied. Photoshop opens but the files don’t.

Same issue here as well. Maybe a slight variation, some files (a few) do open, most do not. Have no time or nerve to figure out what makes them work or not. Please get it resolved yesterday. Thanks

Oh btw, it also seems to affect PS 26.11.7 als well… files do not open either.

Now I can call my customer and let them know that the project will run late as I did trust Adobe with the updates...

It is now 9/19/26. This problem began Yesterday. I have uninstalled and re installed both programs and have the correct setting in the external editing preference in Lightroom.

@han4bond Adobe is working on it. It takes as long as it takes. Please be patient. In the meantime you can downgrade to Photoshop 27.9.1.

I’m also working with 27.9.1 until the bugs in 27.10 are solved
