P: Photoshop 27.10: "Edit in Photoshop" from Lightroom Classic & Lightroom Desktop does not load image with Denoise

Since today’s Photoshop 27.10 update, the “Edit in Photoshop” command in Lightroom Classic 15.5.1 is not working anymore for me. Photoshop opens automatically as before (if it’s not open yet) but no image is being loaded. Downgrading Photoshop to 27.9.1 resolves the issue and the “Edit in Photoshop” functionality is back to normal. I also tried to change the external editing file format from TIFF to PSD or PSB but this didn’t make any difference. Anyone else facing the same issue? 

I’m running macOS Tahoe 26.6.2. Closing and re-opening LRC and PS didn’t solve the problem, rebooting the machine also didn’t show any effect.

      Hi everyone,

      Thank you for the detailed reports and reproductions here. It has been really helpful in isolating the issue quickly. I’ve filed this for the engineering teamto investigate and prioritize. 

      In the meantime, here are confirmed workarounds:

      • Downgrade to Photoshop 27.9.1 via the Creative Cloud app (Other versions > 27.9.1).
      • Alternatively: Temporarily disable Denoise in Lightroom Classic before sending to Photoshop, then re-apply back in Lightroom, or it using Camera Raw as a filter inside Photoshop.

      We understand this disrupts a core editing workflow and appreciate your patience. We'll update this thread as we have more information.

      When I choose to edit a photo in photoshop, it opens photoshop but does not open the photo.

        PS 27.10 Avviando un Photomerge da LRClassic con il comando "unisci come panorama in Photoshop" si apre la finestra di dialogo con i vari file da unire e le opzioni di unione ma quando si fa partire il Photomerge non accade nulla anche se la spia del processore del PC lampeggia come se stesse lavorando.

        When doing adjustment to a .NEF file in Lightroom it will not open in Photoshop when I apply Denoise in Lightroom (this used to be no problem) !

        Another workaround (only for photos with Denoise applied) I’ve been using so I don’t have to rollback Ps or disable Denoise, is to use LrC’s export function to send the copy to Ps. On the Export dialog, configure the copy to be saved to the same folder as original, then check the boxes to add to catalog and add to stack. Use the same file naming convention as you use on External Editing preferences (such as -Edit), and configure the same file type, color space, and bit depth as External Editing preference in the File Settings panel. Include all metadata, no sharpening, don’t resize (but set PPI if you wish), and finally, choose to Open in Ps as the Post-Processing step. Save that as a preset for easy re-use (even from the File > Export with Preset menu to skip the dialog box). Something like this:

         

        As long as that was the last export preformed, you can also use the shortcut for Export with Previous, which is (win) Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E / (mac) Command + Option + Shift + E

              Should've been fixed by now. Even better if they hadn't released it in this state in the first place. Happening too often.

                Please fix this thing, it can’t happen Adobe to leave paying users hanging or looking for solutions to their workflow!!!

                    I have the latest versions of LRC and Photoshop running on a Mac mini M4 pro, the latest update will not open an image in photoshop using the edit-in option, photoshop launches if not open or comes active if in background but then just stalls, I have un-installed both apps and re-installed also re-set all preference files in both apps.. this used to work before the latest update!
