P: Photoshop drawing random lines when using tools (Remove, Brush and other drawing tools)

Bonjour,

Quand j'utilise l'Outil Correcteur Localisé en cliquant avec ma souris sur une zone de la photo à l’écran, une multitude de lignes partent dans tous les sens. Donc cet outil ne fonctionne plus depuis plusieurs jours. Est-ce un bug ?

I was having the same issues with multiple tools in Photoshop. Finally after a day of trying all things, we have found a solution on Reddit. I tried it and it fixed it right up. This is for PC only.

Create a text document with Notepad. Name it “PSUserConfig.txt”
Write “UseSystemStylus 0” in the text body (that’s a zero not an “O”)
Save it in “C:\Users\*YOUR USER NAME*\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2026\Adobe Photoshop 2026 Settings

(In step 3, *YOUR USER NAME* is unique to whatever your username is.)

Restart photoshop and the tools should work again.

When you use the lasso selection tool, click with your mouse on a place on the photo, many times it starts to select random figures. When this is not happening sometimes you can trigger it by making a selection and then delete this selection by Crtr-D. And then click left with the mouse on 1 place.

I have test it on several versions. But version 27.0 is oke. The newer versions and the last one have this bug.

J'ai le même problème avec mon Photoshop pourtant à jour. Et je ne sais pas pourquoi...

Est-ce la dernière mise à jour qui pose ce problème qui rend tous les outils de correction inutilisables ?

In PS when using the clone stamp, healing, burn or curves adjustment tools, one click causes PS to render several unintended brush strokes. The numerous brush strokes seen on this layer mask were rendered with one click with a soft round brush. Similar results using the other mentioned tools.

Was this ever fixed? This is happening now to me at work and at home. Completely unusable. Do we get a month comped in our CC subscription because Adobe can’t fix it’s flagship program?

Do you have a drawing tablet? I haven’t seen this in a while but it was happening on Windows 10 maybe 4-5 years ago for me. I suspect it was a memory-related problem.

I’ve been experiencing this weird brush tool issue where a single click causes random drawing behavior that sometimes is a simple wild stroke to a series of random scribbling that will fill the entire screen (video attached—those are single brush clicks causing the weird random drawing). This has been happening for the last 3 versions of Photoshop, and strangely enough, it seems to go away randomly, enough so that I’ve not been able to grab a video capture of the issue until just now. I’ve reset the brush tool as well as all tools to no avail. Anyone have a magic button for this? I’ll even take the longform mechanical fix if it exists. 🤢
