P: Photoshop Generative Fill - We've encountered an issue and can't complete your request Oct 16

Hi,

I've been unable to use any of the generative AI functionality within Photoshop for the last 12 hours. I rely on this functionality heavily so my workflow has been severely disrupted. Is anyone else having issues? I get an error any time I try to generate anything - I've never encountered this problem before. It's not a problem with credits as I have plenty.

Thanks!

Hi Anshul,

Appreciate the help with this issue; it is still occuring today.

 - Generative Fill/Expand does not work in the Photoshop web version. I've been getting two different errors at various times from the web app: "no user consent to use generative features" or "we've encountered an issue and can't complete your request at this time"

 - When trying to use Firefly image 1 in the model picker, I receive a different error message: "Your system administrator isn't allowing access to this feature" ... I'm not able to locate any settings to change in my account that would affect this.

I'm not an IT admin, but I've tried from two different network connections and multiple computers with the same results.

I'm using a Mac Mini M4 with Tahoe 26.0.1, and Photoshop v26.11.0, and the web version was running in Safari v26.0.1

Hi everyone,

Thanks for continuing to share updates here. It’s been very helpful for the investigation. While the product team reviews this further, could you please assist us by checking a few things on your end?
 • Try the same Generative Fill/Expand request in Photoshop on the web and let us know if it works there.
 • In the Generative Fill model picker, please select “Firefly Image 1” and confirm if that works.
 • If you’re on an enterprise/teams deployment, it would be great if an IT admin could:
 • Share the PAC file with me via DM for review.
 • Confirm that all required Adobe and Firefly endpoints are enabled so generative requests can pass through.
 • Temporarily switch to a transparent proxy to see if that resolves the issue.

These checks will help us narrow down whether the problem is service-side, network-related, or environment-specific.

Best,

Adding that my whole team has also been having this issue for days now. In my case, I do not get an error message, but I get no result when I try any generative fill or expand. I also tried to use generative expand with Firefly in the browser, and the same thing happens. It seems to think for a moment and then just delivers no result.

For everyone - uninstalling, reinstalling, installing different versions or betas will not change anything. If you cannot access Firefly services (incl Gen Fill/Expand) then its further upstream than the software. According to Adobe sources, this was resolved earlier today. Let us know if you are still having issues.

Been having the same issue, I tried downgrading the photoshop version, and still have the same issue.

I saw that Adobe Firefly issues have been resolved; however, the issue still persists.

I've sent a note over to the team to check for issues, but if you are an enterprise or teams user that may explain how so many in various environments are affected. If you are ent/teams - your Admin Console can control your access. Have your IT admin check to make sure an update did not inadvertently affect your access to Firefly features.

Same Problem here for our entire Team. Windows and MacOS. Regular Photoshop and Beta. Firefly and Nano Banana. Office LAN and independent Internet connection from home. Nothing works. Problems begun Oct 15th at afternoon (CET), IIRC.
