When I create a droplet in Photoshop 2025, it creates a folder instead of an EXE file. What is the solution?

Amen. This is bush league performance from Adobe/apple. Not first time. Very lame.

OK that's fair! I'd say more of a broken feature than a bug. But you're right, we'll muddle through as we always do. But thank you for contributing to this thread. At this point I'm beginning to think there's some coding on my horizon whether I like it or not.

Yes, we get it. Its a bug. I'm not posting for your benefit, because clearly you want to complain and not look at workarounds. If you go back through these forums, there are LOTS of bugs that were "the end of the world" but somehow everyone muddled through.

Yes I know there's scripting options out there. But that's a huge departure from simply recording an action and saving as a droplet. I've used Automator for years to open PDFs with a Droplet to make a proof, now I use the Shortcuts app. But I also use Droplets for several other quick tasks like resizing, cropping, etc. I really shouldn't have to learn how to code a script to replace what I could do with a simple GUI interface.

I wonder if an AppleScript or Automator droplet would work for this? Automator can run both AppleScripts and JavaScripts which are both supported languages in Photoshop.

with Windoze, permission issues. Droplets stop running and can't execute. Recreate the droplet and give it administrator rights. I can't remember 100% off the top of my head, but I think we still have issues on one windows machine. I'll ask my staff. But they're always similar to the Mac. Permission issues. Security issues.

Thanks for that, Scott!!! Right on point! Just curious, what issues have Droplets had in Windows?

Dear Adobe

Droplets are an integral part of my work flow. I have several Adobe subscriptions and use PS on a half dozen computers, both Windows and Mac. I believe that with the money I pay, I should expect to have a working product.

I cannot count the number of times that droplets have broken on both Mac and Windows in various ways. Please stop blaming Microsoft and Apple. You're a mega-company. Please figure out the problem and fix it. Please stop using your professional user base as beta testers. Please fix the droplet issues, and please, really, test droplets before you make new releases.

same problem for me with a mac Studio Sequoia

This problem started when macOS updated to 15.4 and affected all versions of Photoshop. I have the same version of Photoshop running on mutliple macs, in 15.3x it works, in 15.4, it doesn't. Yes I agree it's an Adobe issue because they need to make sure their software works on the OS it's running on, but it wasn't an Adobe update that broke the Droplets, it was Apple.
