P: PS 27.3.0 Using the Gradient Tool (mode to Multiply) on a Layer Mask doesn't work properly now.

While using the Gradient Tool (PS 27.3.0) on a Layer Mask, Mode set to Multiply, this doesn't work properly now.

The work around- I have to create a new Group of my layer then add a layer mask and set Gradient Mode to Normal in order to for this to work. This bug is new since I updated PS to 27.3.0

On a Layer Mask, the Gradient Tool is bugged. If I draw a single line with the tool and then move that line at all, it will stack multiple gradients like it’s recording every movement I’m doing with that line. It’s acting like a paintbrush. I’ve attached a video reproducing the bug

I’m on Photoshop version 27.3 and Windows 11 version 25H2

Hey, @D Fosse, @BoekMarc, & @MLip. Thanks for bringing this up. Could you record a short video and share it with me along with the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks!

Same here, and when I revers the gradient with the button in the mask layer properties the whole mask goes black. Definitely a bug here.

It works properly in Classic mode, but not the “new” mode. Then some funky stuff happens that has no relation to the actual tones set in the gradient. Yes, clearly a bug.
