Adobe is the Trump version of software development. They only care about their own revenue and don't care about the users.

Is it REALLY that hard to believe though?

Updated to Big Sur, and Photoshop 20.0.1 on my MacBook Pro, hoping for the best. Alas, the issue persists. A fancy new dialog box asks me to confirm "overwrite filename.jpg" before NOT overwriting it and saving it as filename copy.jpg. Versioning for clients and general file keeping remains a nightmare. Hard to believe this issue exists on Adobe's flagship product, and has for three updates!

Ah yes, my bad. I was working with layered files, but "saved for web". Dammit. False alarm, folks!

Nope. Still broken. If you're saving a flattened file it works as expected.

But if you're using Save As to flatten the file (removing layers to save as a JPEG) it still saves a copy.

Happy Saturday, kids. Looks like the bug may have finally been quashed!

That's the best post in the year we've been whining about this obnoxious bug.

Hey Adobe, shut down your sham "bug reporting" site. It's offensive, an insult to paying customers who expect you to deliver the timely bug fixes you promised when you implemented your software-rental scam.
