Just trying to stamp out misinformation, AKA Adobe actually doing its job.

Not sure if you saved as from a FLAT to a jpg. A Layered file saved as over an existing jpg STILL does NOT work.

Thanks will take a look, unfortunately I think I have certain dependency on psd files, not sure if these softwares will be able to open them. If they do then I will definitely try them.

Thanks

Adobe, please address this issue. It's not a "feature". It's a bug. Period. Many frustrated users out here. Thank you.

@sebastian_aguila

Affinity Photo looks like a great alternative, one I'd use instead of photoshop right now were it not for my dependence on After Effects.

They have an Illustrator alternative too and neither app relies on 30-year-old code.

What are you looking to do? What kind of image manipulation? For professional retouching, I believe Photoshop is the only game in town. The alts exist for other things like color correction, design, etc. And Gimp is an open source photo editor that has existed for a long time.

I've been retouching for the past 25 years or so and I've looked around but Pshop is standard for the field. Although! I admit I use ridiculous retouching and color editing apps for my mobile photos sometimes, for fun. Heh. Maybe some day Pshop will go the way of Quark, which is still alive and kicking somewhere.

I'm so frustrated about this I'm open to consider a software alternative, any ideas?
