Updated to 22.4.2. Unfortunately, "Save As Copy..." still ads "copy" to the file name. Ugh.

Correction. Forgot to enable "Legacy Save As..." in Preferences. Now it works. Thank God!

p.s. Glad Apple finally fixed their OS! *sarcasm* 😉

@Sendy Fiala Update isn't available to me yet. Looking forward to checking it out!

To touch on your other comment, I personally prefer constrain transform without holding shift and unconstrained while holding as default, as I use the former 99% of the time. Though either way, it's just something that takes getting used to, depending on the preference.

Cheers!

In what universe does it make any sense from a UI or UX (and common sense) perspective to have "Save", "Save As", "Save a Copy", Save for Web", "Export As", "Export For" options? This boggles my mind.

Adobe should consider drug testing for it's engineering, design, and management departments. Mind blowing. This has to be a very bad, long-running joke.

@Sendy Fiala

Thanks for the enable legacy save as tip, it worked for me.

I can confirm that for me it is working, tested on a layered psd file and converted it into a jpg. One annoying thing though is that now  I need to select the save a copy option every time, it doesn't appear by defect. Finally this is solved!!

Want RIGHT now, but the update not showing in Creative Cloud for me.

Edit: NVM, found how to force Creative Cloud to check for updates, something I shouldn't have to do.

Also, "uncompetent" perfectly describes the Photoshop bug fix team on this issue.

Update 22.4.2: FINALLY after more than year of complaints is legacy Save As without adding COPY to filename back! Of course, you have to enable legacy Save As in Preferences, because otherwise it would seem like they are uncompetent in Adobe - so now they pretend their intention was good, only stupid users are not able to understand them... Similar to cause with constrained transform with/without SHIFT key pressed.

Thus far, I have only complained to myself about some of the changes made to Photoshop, but I'm really frustrated today, so I'm now complaining out loud. The 'Save' and 'SaveAs' processes are mindbending and time-consuming. Why were these processes changed? I want to 'SaveAs' to whichever file type I choose. I don't want to be limited to three file types. I don't want to 'Save a Copy' every time I make changes to a file or when creating and saving a new file. Also, why can't I just 'Save' the changes I made to an already existing file if it's the same file type? This was all working just fine.

Adobe, I implore you to quit making nonsense little changes with every update. We pay a lot for Adobe products. Please stop making it more difficult to be happy using them.

Thank you!
