P: Why was auto-complete in File Info removed from the latest (2014) version?

When using the File Info section of the previous version of PS CC prior to the newest 2014 version, I could simply type in the first one or two letters of any of the fields and the program would auto-fill (or suggest) the rest of the text for that field. With the newest (2014) version of PS CC it isn't doing that...and I'm told this feature was no longer included in the newest version. To me that's ridiculous that they removed this feature, as it saved me a ton of time. Is there any way that we can request that this auto-complete feature be reinstated into the newest version?

Captions had an autocomplete function in Photoshop CS6, which saved time retyping captions in the 'file info' field. This does not seem to be available in Photoshop CC 2015 or am I missing something? I am not talking about batch commands, but a suggestive caption which was useful for two or three photographs of the same subject.

google - camera bits, try it for free, then buy if it works for you, also google it on you tube, see what people are saying and how they use it, like all good software it will take a little time to get into the flow, but once you do you won't regret it. I don't work for them or are paid by them to endorse it but frankly there is no alternative made by Adobe that does captioning and selecting images anywhere near as good.

What is this inexpensive excellent caption software of which you speak..?  I may need to get it!  I am so bummed that auto complete feature is gone..I finally just broke down and switched from CS6 to CC2017...and spent half a day trying to locate a preference menu to see if I could turn on auto complete!  Finally, I came here to see what I could find out and am appalled that Adobe would remove such a useful feature....I'd almost like to switch back now to CS6...if I didn't have to start over from scratch reloading my actions and plug ins and filters lol....

Ive just changed from CS6 to PS CC2017...I am so bummed that the File Info Auto complete feature is gone!  I use it all the time...as I do stock photography and do my keywords when filling in title, my name, etc.  Why in the world would Adobe not include this very useful feature anymore?  I see this is an old subject...but really...bring it back please!!!!!!!!!

I recently upgraded to PS CC and discovered the File Info autofill feature was dropped. Why would Adobe discontinue such a time-saving feature? Has anyone from Adobe responded about this?

hate to say it Dudu, but no chance. See my comment above yours and that was a year ago. Adobe clearly don't listen to working photographers in the newspaper media.  I was even at an adobe lecture and raised the question and the presenter said, why do you need to use file info? words fail me. As I have already said there is excellent caption software on the market that is very inexpensive and much much better than PS file info, why not give it a try.

David,
don't want to keep banging on about other software on a PS forum because I probably will always use PS because it is the industry standard, but, other software does IPTC/XMP captioning much better and actually has a template for AP photographers.
