Hi @Daniela33943970htbo

Thanks for stopping by the Premiere forums. In order to better troubleshoot, we need to ask for a few more details like if Mac (and what macOS) or PC (whether Windows 11/10, plus what driver version & build), what version & build of Premiere are you using, how’s your media stored (NAS/External) with our bug report details.

  • Premiere Version: Find the exact version/build of Premiere you’re current using.
  • Operating System: Specify Windows or macOS, along with the version.
  • Mac Chip (Mac Only): Please let us know what M-series chip you have. If Intel please include GPU.
  • GPU and Driver (Windows only): Please let us know your video card and driver version. We recommend updating to the most recent version; for NVIDIA users, we strongly recommend the Studio version of the driver.
  • Media Files: video, images, etc. and what types (can check under Media Properties)
  • Media Storage: Are your Scratch Disks set to your Documents folder or the same as project, and is this the same as the Media drive?

Also, if you could please let us know the following, this is also helpful to know:

  • Does it affect all projects or only some? What about new, empty projects?
  • Do you recall which Premiere this was last working in, and what might have changed? Any plugins, update to computer, etc.
  • When did the problem first begin?

Lastly, you mention right after updating your Mac, Adobe is not working. What was the update you did?

Hope to help!
Katie

@Daniela33943970htbo Thanks for those details. Yes, some clarifications if you don’t mind.

  1. What was the previous macOS version before 27.0? Was it Tahoe?
  2. Was Premiere already v26.5.1 before the macOS update?
  3. Which Premiere version/build worked normally prior? Was it v26.5 or older?
  4. It sounds like the lag so far is affecting playback but can you confirm, does the lag also affect:

    • Playback only?
    • Timeline scrubbing?
    • Editing actions?
    • Opening projects or panels?
  5. Does it happen in a new project with a sample clip?
  6. Where are the media and cache stored, such as internal SSD, external drive, NAS, or cloud-synced folder?
  7. Are third-party plugins installed, and if so, are they all up to date? You can also try launching Premiere with those temporarily disabled to see if that helps by holding the Option key during launch.
  8. Does restarting Premiere or your Mac temporarily improve it?

A short screen recording could also be helpful to show us exactly what’s happening.

Appreciate it,
Katie
