Auto tag dialog not functioning usefully

I've just installed 24.4.1 build 2 on my Win 10 rig. I've got ten clips on a sequence, from one of the cameras connected directly to my system via that delightful Atem unit. I have two boom mics, and I was shooting a series of tests with very slight adaptations to the sound into my Xenyx mixer from each mic, to get them not only balanced but sounding as identical as possible.

The clips are extremely close ... these were after achieving a "pretty close" match ... going for "identical".

One clip was auto-tagged dialog, the other nine? Nothing.

As all clips are me talking through the same pair of mics, nearly identical in audio levels and waveform, I can't figure out why only one would "tag" ... this doesn't seem to be working correctly.

@mattchristensenor anyone ... any ideas?
