Click To Open Project ?

Hello,

There are some cumbersome features in Premiere Pro, as if no one has ever used this software for a project...

When opening the software on Mac, a list of recently opened projects show up. However, when trying to click on a project name, a tooltip appears and omits the click, so that the user has to click more than once on the item to open the project. Anyone experieced this?

It seems imtermittent on Mac, it wasn't obvious why, when or where.

@jamieclarke,

When I click on the taskbar, it never opens the first time.

I used delays of 10, 20, and 30 seconds, and a total of 6 tries. After closing the project, the cursor ends up over the New project/Open project buttons. I just left it there. Sometimes it opens on first click; sometimes not.

I tested this in Photoshop 27.2.0. I opened a couple of files, so I knew the recent list was current. Closing a file and immediately clicking on it in the recent list opens every time. Hovering over it before clicking adds a checkmark next to "on your computer."

Clicking on the taskbar and then hovering over the recent file does nothing. Clicking the recent file adds a checkmark to the selection, but does not open it. A second click opens it. After clicking the taskbar, clicking an empty area of the window results in the hover showing the arrow and a click opening.

I used delays of 10, 20, and 30 seconds, and a total of 6 tries. It always opened on the first click.

Hi @Stan Jones @Avatar55977840 - Thank you for your testing.  I do see what stan jones is saying clicking on the task bar on windows and then immediately clicking a project in the home screen twice, but it does seem intermittent as @Avatar55977840  has said.  I'm wondering if its just a timing issue.  Can you reproduce this issue if you have the home screen open for more than 10 seconds?

@Avatar55977840 @jamieclarke,

I have updated to PR 25.6.4 and tested.

I see the tooltip, and it includes the path and filename.

As in previous tests, a second click is needed unless I immediately interact with the recent projects window.

Open a project, close the project, and immediately click on a project in the Recent list. It opens every time.

Open a project, close the project, and click on an empty section of the Windows task bar. The "Essential graphics" information window disappears. Hover over a recent project, the cursor changes to a hand, that project's row turns great, and the tooltip appears. Left-click once: the "Essential Graphics" appears, but the project does not open. Click a second time, the project opens. The happens every time this process is repeated.

This is a known issue.

Been going on for quite some versions now and has been reported.

Often have to click more than once to open the project.

Looks like it has been fixed in the beta.

Hello, sometimes clicking the items works fine, but it's inconsistent. The tooltip that appears seems to occasionally change the cursor status, when hovering over. Simply, open your Premiere Pro, a list of Recent projects shows up, try to reach with the cursor to one of the items and click immediately, often it doesn't register the click and the user has to reposition the mouse or click again more than once to open a project. Thanks!

Can you try and hold down "SHIFT" while launching Premiere and check the boxes
"Reset app preferences" (Backup Preferences first)

Thanks, the tooltip only shows the path location of the file, when hovering over the project name. Latest Premiere version on Mac Sequoia. Thanks!
