Color flick while Playing back

Sometimes, the Program window has this weird color flicker while playing back. It could happen after I launch Premiere or while I am editing. It is normal when paused, but the color flicker comes out when playback. The only way to get rid of the color flick is to restart Premiere Pro, and it will come back out several times a day during the editing.

Thanks, everyone. Peace!

My first suggestion is to try the Beta first. Next up? More RAM. Can you try the Beta first and report back, @Willie Hulk?

Cheers,
Kevin

It doesn't work after deleting the media cache.

Please find my system info below:

  • Issue - Color flick while Play Back on both Program and Source Window
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number: Version 24.6.1 (Build 2)
  • Operating system - Windows 11 Pro 23H2
  • System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:
    • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 3.70 GHz

    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

    • GPU driver (PC): NVIDIA Studio Driver Version 561.09
    • RAM: 32G*4 DDR4-3600

    • Hard Drive: Samsung SSD 890 PRO 1TB, Samsung SSD 870 EVO 4TB*2

  • Video format: XAVC 4:2:2 10-bit. (Shot by Sony A7S3/FX3)
  • Workflow details: 3840*1634, 23.976Frames/second, Rec. 709 color space, editing in Apple ProRes 422 Proxy
  • Steps to reproduce - (Very important!) While normally editing, the color flick will randomly come out when I play back. Sometimes it shows up in the Source Window, and sometimes in the Program Window.
  • Expected result - The color flick only exists when playing back; it looks normal when paused.
  • Actual result -  Restart Premiere Pro to get rid of the color flick, but will come back after

Please let us know if it works! If not, kindly provide more information about your system and media, @Willie Hulk. See, How do I write a bug report?

Thanks,
Kevin

Okay. Let me try and see if the issue comes back. Thanks!

Try deleting the media cache, hold down alt while starting PP.

What video card do you have. As Rob implied, these are typically video driver issues, so rolling back to a previous one, might affect things. You don't have to go just to the one before last.

Yes, my NVIDIA Studio Drive is up to date, but no matter which version of the drive, this issue has existed for a while. I just want to see if there is an alternate solution for it. Thank you for the answer!
