Default media scaling does not work when update to 25.6.1
This had already happened in a previous update and then they corrected it.

Now it fails again

Same problem here. It is a bug.
When importing a media into the timeline and "set to frame" was set in Preferences/Media/Deafault media skaling
it did that until the new update 25.6.1
Now media is imported with original size.

OK thanks for your response, anyway trust me when I tell you that this issue didn't happen before, as I use this app for 30 years. In fact, I never use the program monitor when dragging clips, I always drag them directly to the timeline. Don't worry, anyway it's not a big deal!

Thanks a lot!

Hi @pablokur - This is the way Premiere has always worked however, I agree it should be improved.

Wrong - when “Set to frame” is chosen as a default, prior to this update, a clip would auto ‘set to frame’ now it does not, these people aren’t blind

The bug is in both... setting scale to frame size or fit to frame

I insist that this error already existed in the past and then they corrected it. Since the last update it failed again

Thank you

Hi @pablokur - I believe this is happening because of the way you import your media.  Can you tell me what your preferences are set to under Media > "Default Media Scaling"

If you have "Scale to frame size" on while importing your media it should scale correctly.

I have this same issue, I’ve used Adobe since long before CC days - this worked until the most recent update (yes it failed long ago and y’all fixed it before) - this is NOT user error

I also noticed that it only happen when I drag a clip directly to the timeline, but the problem is solved when the clip is dragged to the program monitor

Ok here i go

•Issue – Default media scaling is not working
•Steps to reproduce – When you insert a video clip with different frame size than the sequence
•Expected result – The clip should be automatically scaled to the frame size of the sequence as requested in the Media tab of the settings
•Actual result – The clips stay on its own frame sizes
•Screen recording – screenshot attached
•Adobe Premiere Pro version – 25.6.1 (Build 2)
•Operating system – macOs Sequoia 15.7.1
•Video format – any type of video, actually using mp4 mov and MTS
•Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
◦it affects all projects
◦the problem begins after updating

Set “USER PREFERENCES” in MEDIA - “Default media scaling:” to “Fit to Frame”

Move to timeline a clip that is 1920 x 1080

Now, move a clip that is 960 x 540 on top or alone that timeline

That 2nd clip will NOT auto size “Fit to frame” at all - you have to manually right click and make that choice

VERY simple to reproduce as it happens to me every day on every new project Since 25.1
