DJI HEVC 10-bit 4:2:0 footage. Freezes from the first frame in 26.3. Appears in the export as well as the timeline. Fresh projects reproduce it. The identical clips work perfectly in 25.6 on the same computer.

@Stuart33104121plg4 I’ve got an update for you on this issue, as someone else was experiencing a similar issue and sent us their project/media file for testing that we were able to recreate.

A workaround for the meantime that we discovered is this: top menu Sequence Settings > Render In to Out. let it render, then try playing it back and see if it resolves for yours (apart from v25.6 working as well).

Once I receive another update about the bug report, I’ll provide an update here.
    Thanks!

    Hi @Stuart33104121plg4

Welcome to the Premiere forums! Appreciate the details about the footage and projects, which version Premiere you’re having issues in, as well as which Premiere version it was last working on.

    1) Could you please let us also know your current setup if Mac or Windows 11/10, what MacOS or if Windows which driver build and version from our bug report details.

    2) Try refreshing your login to Creative Cloud, as there could be a sync error with it installing the codec that requires a full log-out and re-authentication.

    3) Have you tried disabling the option under Premiere > Settings > Media and toggle off the ‘enable hardware accelerated decoding’? Let it restart then try playback again.

Have you tried loading that same clip into the latest update of Beta 26.5, as I’m curious if it works or freezes?

And if needed, there is this Adobe Creative Cloud cleaner that may help.

Sorry for any frustrations, and hope to help!
    Katie
