Dynamic link freeze

hello. I need a workaround regarding dynamic links in premier pro.

When I press Replace with After Effects Composition in Premier Pro or Create New Composition in Dynamic Link, Premier Pro freezes and loads infinitely. I'm a macbook user.

I've tried most of the methods posted in the community, but I still have the problem.

I've tried 1. clearing cache, 2. resetting preference, 3. resetting workspace.

4. uninstalling and reinstalling premiere pro and after effects. 5. replace audio input with no input

6. set project lock in project settings. 7. save the project as a local folder and set the path to English. 8. switch off your computer. 9. log out of CCIf you've tried everything, the Dynamic Link in Premier Pro will freeze.

How  can I fix it?...

I have the same problem - I just recently had this problem
I've been trying to fix this for exactly 2 days now
I followed all these steps
And even removed all the plugins
For a moment Premiere was able to open After Effects to link
But then it gave an error that After Effects is not installed
And after a few tries Premiere would freeze again
I even tested version 2024
And even in that version it would either freeze or say error connecting
I have Windows 11 system
32 RAM even

It used to crash if the folder name and file name where the project was saved were not in English, so I could fix it and use it, but since the version came out, no matter what I do, it doesn't work.

Yes, it used to work fine, and then it didn't. It was a language issue in the project. It worked fine if the folder and file names were in English, but then one day I started getting this error all the time. No matter how many times I rename the folders and files in English, Premier Pro crashes 100% of the time when I do a Composition Change using the steps I've described. I've tried dozens of times.

  • Issue - Dynamic link freezing issue
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number: 25.1
  • Operating system - Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.2
  • System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:
    • M3 pro

    • Ram 36GB
  • Video format: all type of format make freeze
  • Workflow details: Replace with After Effects Composition funtion make  Premier Pro freeze
  • Steps to reproduce - (Very important!) 1. create a project, 2. click Replace  with After Effects Composition, 3. Premier Pro freezes and is stuck in constant loading. 4. Same thing happens when I press Dynamic Link in EDIT to create a new composition.
  • Expected result - The dynamic link should be connected with the aftereffect turned on.
  • Actual result -  After Effects will not be turned on, only Premiere will freeze. If i have After Effects turned on beforehand, Premiere will freeze and After Effects will continue to function normally without freezing. However, my compositions don't transfer over from Premiere Pro.

I'm trying to replace with a composition (or import a composition) with some basic text animations, and everysingle time it results in both after effects and premiere crashing. I've tried updating to the latest version, downgrading versions, starting with fresh a project and i can't seem to find a rhyme or reason for the crashes.

You say 'as always'; have you ever been able to get dynamic link to work, on this system? Millions of users are using dynamic link without issue, so we're hopeful we can get you to a similar place.

Confirming: The contents of the project don't matter, you can get both PPro and AE to crash, 100% of the time?!

Can you provide steps we can follow, to reliably reproduce those crashes?

Thanks! I've disabled the crash report because it's annoying that it keeps popping up, is there any way to turn it back on?

Hi @한솔252694865ydg,

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums!  We’re happy you’ve reached out.  Can you tell me some steps to reproduce this issue?  When it "freezes,
do you force quit, or does it give you some error either on crash or when you restart the application?
We’ll need a bit more info to try to help with your issue. Please see: How do I write a bug report?  I hope we can help you soon.
