I ended up exporting all my AE comps and then manually importing them into Premiere. This bureaucratic runaround is insane! I will be using https://getartcraft.com/apps from now on.

@James30326616trqs Thank you for updating with that workaround for now. If you’re able to let us know some additional details, we’d be happy to try to help figure out what happened with your dynamic links.

How many dynamic links were there in that project? Did you open your project with all, some of, or just one dynamic link broken, and what was in them?

These questions asked just help us better understand your setup, what might have happened, if any updates whether Premiere or on your macOS, even if plugins are involved.

Screenshot(s) or better yet, a short screen recording of what’s going on with the dynamic link between After Effects and Premiere could really be helpful to see what’s in your sequence, what sort of errors (if any), if it hard crashes or has to force quit. There could be something else going on past the dynamic link itself.

For example, I’m wondering if you happen to be on macOS Golden Gate as there’s been a recent issue found currently being investigated, where if it installs Ask Siri and you see it show up on the right click submenus, freezing/crash issues can occur.

If you’d be willing, I can provide our Dropbox upload link if you’d like to upload a recording, sample clips and perhaps even a simplified copy of the affected project. If you would like to try that, let me know and I’ll DM you that link.

Let us know, and thank you for updating us!

    Hi @James30326616trqs

Thanks for stopping by the Premiere forums. We’d like to help, if you could please return once you’ve had a moment and give us a few details about what’s going on with the Dynamic linking exactly and in which Premiere from bug report details..

    Let us know the following:

    • What is the exact Premiere version and build you’re using? Premiere > About Premiere or Help > About Premiere.
    • Please specify Windows or macOS, along with the OS and driver version/build.
      • GPU Driver (Windows only): Please let us know your video card driver version. We recommend updating to the most recent version; for NVIDIA users, we strongly recommend the Studio version of the driver.
    • Screen Recording: If possible, include a recording of your screen showing the issue as that’s helpful.

    For additional context:

    • Does it affect all projects or only some?
    • Does it affect new, empty projects?

    Hope to help!

I will not calm down. I am on deadline. I pay Adobe money for RELIABLE SOFTWARE to do my job. Once Adobe has stopped cutting every corner to extract profit from workers, maybe then we can have a conversation?

I’m using the latest versions of everything!

    I’m on MacOS!

When I try to load projects with a dynamic link, it crashes AE and Premiere!

    Yes!

    Yes!

It was literally working a few days ago! You guys buggered it up! I tried installing older versions and nothing worked. I’m an advanced user. I’ve done all the trouble shooting steps I could find on forums and reddit. This is not a user issue. This is an Adobe issue. I’m glad someone reconstructed the Adobe suite and made it available as open source software. I hope Adobe crashes and burns as a company!

@James30326616trqs Completely understand, and sorry for any frustrations with that. I only meant when you had a moment and could describe to us what was happening, as we’d like to help and to try and recreate what’s happening to better troubleshoot on our side.

It sounds like you’re in the latest Premiere v26.5.2 on Mac. Which macOS? What type of Mac/chip?

When you say it crashes After Effects and Premiere, are you getting the crash report box popup or you end up having to force quit? I ask because if you do get that crash report up, you can enter your email in the blank box, DM us what that was, and then our engineers can look up that report to see what might be going on. Let me know, if so!

With it working a few days ago, did anything happen to change or update even OS wise or plugins or something like this that you can recall? What sort of media are you working with, and what are you trying to dynamic link?

As for installing older versions, would that be v26.5.1 or v26.3 or something older, and matching versions between Premiere and After Effects?

Could we see a short screen recording or even screenshots of what’s going on in your dynamic linking to get a better idea of what exactly is happening when they crash? This could be very helpful.

    Appreciate your time!
