Fix your audio playback ADOBE!

This issue had clearly been happening to alot of people for years and nothing that adobe has been doing seems to have fixed it. I see posts about this all the time with the same list of trouble shooting options, none of which work.

When I play my projects the audio should play for all sources but instead it cuts out all the bloody time. If you have more then 2 sources of audio it can’t handle it. I have an up to date 64gb ram pc and it still cuts out so it not the pc. The issues started in 2023 when i was working as an editor for another company using one of their pc’s which was even better then my pc is now and the issue started on those after an update came in. We’d be editing 4 audio channel from a wedding and then one source would decide not to play, and you would have to disable everything around it to get the source you needed to hear to play. But sometimes that isn’t helpful, like between songs with overlap, when I need to hear where one song ends and the other comes in. Sometime the new song just doesn’t play. it plays once the track for the last song has gone but thats not helpful cause i need to hear the transition. Same with trying to edit to footage near a transition. I can’t hear the audio so I cannot see where to cut. it bloody driving me insane. And its been an issue for YEARS!!!! FIX IT!

Look at all the post about choppy audio on playback you will see how many people are complaining about this issue, they get a list of options that I tried and none of them work. There will be one lucky sod who goes “oh year it worked” and then the post will be listed as resolved… well its not cause loads are still complaining!

No wonder people are leaving for other softwares when you’re charging a frankly ridiculous monthly fee when every other software does a flat one time fee, and the software is riddle with issues like this years after they first crop up.

FIX IT!

    Hi @TazerMediaProductions,

Welcome to the Premiere Forums. Sorry for the frustration you’re experiencing with audio playback.

For the team to try to better assist you, can you please provide some more information?

    • What is the exact Premiere version you’re using?
    • Please specify Windows or macOS, along with the version.
      • GPU Driver (Windows only): Please let us know your video card driver version. We recommend updating to the most recent version; for NVIDIA users, we strongly recommend the Studio version of the driver.
    • Screen Recording: If possible, include a recording of your screen showing the issue.

    For additional context:

    • Does it affect all projects or only some?
    • Does it affect new, empty projects?

    Best,

    Jonathan
