Frame.io V4 gets stuck trying to authenticate in browser in Premiere v26.0.0

Frame.io v4 panel opens and I when I select “Get Started” to login into my Frame.io account. It just gets stuck at “Authenticating... Please continue in browser”. It would normally open up my broswer to authenicate, but it is not doing that now. It was working like normal in Premiere 2025 or the previous version. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a solution to this?

This issue has been fixed in Premiere version 26.2

Hey all! We’ve shipped a fix for this Authentication issue on macOS in Premiere 26.2! With our old approach, authentication would break if you’d logged into the Frame.io V4 panel in another major version of Premiere. Now, at worst, you have to log in fresh on a new version of Premiere. No more hangs!

this helped for me, nothing else:

Emergency Alternative: The "Force URL" Method

If deleting the Keychain doesn't work, developers recommend "forcing" the authentication through a specific browser link while Premiere is open:

    • Open your browser and go to: https://accounts.frame.io/welcome?legacy_auth=false&auth_callback=adobe%2Bppro://frameio.

    • Log in there with your new/correct account. It should trigger a pop-up asking to "Open Adobe Premiere Pro," which will force the panel to switch accounts.

Similar problem here, only I couldn’t open FrameIO in Premiere 2025. Worked after logging out of Frame in Premiere 2026, so thanks for the tip.

(I’m working in Mac OS Tahoe 26.2, mostly in pp26, but still also a big project in pp25 to avoid potential project upgrade issues)

I am having issues with my Frame.io on the Premiere Beta 2026. I have follow all the suggestion here, but I am still having issues accessing Frame.io. I can’t go pass this message (see attachment)

Hey @Danilo30228898wlii , sorry you’re experiencing this issue. Can you try navigating to https://accounts.frame.io/welcome?legacy_auth=false&auth_callback=adobe%2Bppro://frameio in your browser while the plugin is in the ‘Authenticating...’ state? We are actively working on a fix for this issue for the next Premiere release, thanks for your patience!

using the link above at the right time will get you back in to frameIO. However, Export to frame IO also seems to not be able to title new sequences beyond the first export and will stack new/ different sequences over and over with the same title as the first even if they are not the same. Adobe sure likes to break things.

Also, why couldn’t this problem have been caught sooner. “seems to be a problem upgrading from previous versions” is a weak way of putting the problem off Adobe... as if 99% of people are doing exactly that “upgrading” and not installing new software for the first time. Do you guys even use this software yourselves??? If you did I would think glitches like this would be noticed BEFORE you sent out an update. Garbage and a waste of hours of my workday.

    Hi @roberts2771643,

We appreciate the feedback, and sorry again that you’re having issues with the panel. I absolutely recognize how frustrating it is to have your time wasted. Please trust that we’re working hard every day to test the software internally, and address issues that arise.

    Regarding this issue:

“Export to frame IO also seems to not be able to title new sequences beyond the first export and will stack new/ different sequences over and over with the same title as the first even if they are not the same.”

After you export a Sequence the first time to F.io, when you Export again you have two options:

    1. Export onto the the existing F.io asset as a F.io Version Stack
    2. Export as a brand new F.io asset in a location of your choosing

This can be controlled by toggling the “Add to Version Stack” toggle in the Export modal:

Additionally, whether you’re exporting for the first time or additional times from the same Premiere Sequence, you may edit the title in export modal to a name of your choosing (by default it will use the Sequence title):

Please let me know if that’s helpful, or if there’s something specific/different you were expecting or would like to see. We’re also happy to meet with you over a video call to discuss further! cc @Patrick Southern

    Thanks much,
    BJ

@roberts2771643 @BJ Warshaw we do have a bug where the “Name” field in the export settings is auto-populated with the name of the existing asset, rather than the sequence, when creating a version stack. One of our engineers submitted a fix. QA just finished testing it today. The fix should be out to both Premiere and Premiere (Beta) in the near future.

Regarding the issue with keychain items between major versions, that is a miss on our end. We’d been testing mostly in Premiere (Beta) during development, which doesn’t change major versions often. We’re working on a fix. So sorry for the frustration it has caused.

I’m not sure why Frame.io won’t launch when accessed through the Window>Frame.io>Fame.io V4. I get the following windows (see attachments) but my web browser won’t open to login and manually doing it doesn’t work.

The only thing that works is to continue to use the old Frame.io extension but I don’t find it as seamless.

@OPH-Video I’m not seeing any attachments here, but we’d like to help you out. Can you try attaching again? And have you tried the instructions in the pinned message on this thread?

    Thanks, BJ

Yes, I did and it worked...for a while. I got rid of the 2025 version and any Beta versions I had after installing Pr 26 so I can’t follow the guidance exactly. However, clicking on the link seems to work.
Yesterday as I moved through my various projects, things seemed to align and continue to work smoothly until they didn’t and I was met with a blank Frame.io V4 window. I reverted to using the Frame.io extension, which appears to be stable.
This morning, I clicked the “Get Started” button in the Frame.io V4 windown (not extension) and it stalled at the Authenticate in browser.
I came back to this thread and clicked the link and now it seems to be working again.
Let me know if there is any other information that would be helpful.

Navigating to the link directly (AFTER clicking “Get Started” within Premiere Pro - this is necessary) seems to have worked for me, and appears to be the temporary solution I’ll use until this bug is fixed. However, the bug persists after doing this - logging out of the Frame.io V4 panel and then trying to log back in results in the same problem and requires me to manually navigate to the link again. It doesn’t seem to be an issue with an external pop-up blocker - clicking the “Learn more about Frame.io” link right below the Get Started button in the Premiere panel works just fine.

Hi @pixelauthor, sorry for the troubles. Can you try the additional steps in the pinned reply? Particularly, explicitly signing out of the whichever previous version of Premiere you were using, then logging in again via the latest version you’re migrating to, should solve this. Let us know if it doesn’t! Thanks for your patience. 🙏

@BJ Warshaw the first solution (clicking the link) worked, yes. I don’t have Premiere 2025 installed so I skipped straight to the third solution to see if that was a more permanent fix (deleting the token from Keychain Access). That seems to have worked - it did trigger the pop-up again and logged me in successfully as it usually does. I’ll report back if the issue persists after it logs me out again.
