If you use "Replace Footage" on a PC, then open the project on a Mac, it points to the wrong media.

If you use "Replace Footage" on a PC, then open the project on a Mac, it points to the old pre-replaced version of the file.

1. On a PC version of Premiere, use "Replace Footage" to swap a shot out. Each of the shots have unique names - ie, clipname_r01 gets replaced with clipname_r02. These shots are Prores Quickimes rendered from Unreal Engine.

2. Save the project and open it on a Mac version of Premiere. Although the project says it is pointing to clipname_r02, it's actually showing clipname_r01.

3. If you "Reveal in Finder..." on clipname_r02, it opens clipname_r01 in the Finder.

4. The only fix is to use 'Replace Footage" again on the Mac, ie replace clipname_r02 with clipname_r02 again.

Hi @agile_epicness1460

There are three essential things to consider when dealing with the problem.

1) Make sure both versions of Premiere Pro are the same on the Mac and PC. You did that in your original post and are using 25.3 on both.

2) Use a shared folder to store your Premiere Pro project file and all related media.

3) Create a logical folder structure within the shared folder and make sure the file paths match.

PC: (Y)CURRENT_JOBS_2\E1 PROJECTS\ROB\TFA\RENDERS\s240_deenaTalks

MAC: (Volumes)CURRENT_JOBS_2/E1\ PROJECTS/ROB/TFA/RENDERS/s240_deenaTalks

If you can try to ensure that any spaces in the folder paths are changed to underscores.

For example, instead of E1 PROJECTS, try E1_PROJECTS. That could potentially be an issue in some cases.

Are you using networking software to mount and connect the media? Is there a network engineer involved who can examine the networking software that may be potentially causing an issue? You have mentioned that you have "Replace Footage." Do you do that in the PC version of the project or the Mac version, in the same folder as the media and project files first? And then, do you save the project file versions?

Some more info -

The files exist in the same folder. This folder is on a networked server that is mounted on the PC and the Mac.

Here's an example of the PC path - Y:\E1 PROJECTS\ROB\TFA\RENDERS\s240_deenaTalks where Y: is a network mount called CURRENT_JOBS_2(\\192.168.1.150).

Here is the same path on the mac - /Volumes/CURRENT_JOBS_2/E1\ PROJECTS/ROB/TFA/RENDERS/s240_deenaTalks on the network mount smb://192.168.1.150

I'll try to send some more details/screen recordings

Hi @agile_epicness1460

Welcome to the Premiere Pro Forum community.  Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. The team needs a little more information to begin troubleshooting. The link here  How do I write a bug report has steps to provide more information about your bug that can help us identify the issue. What folder structures are you using? Are all the clips living in one folder? Or did you separate the clips you replaced into their own folder? The Mac and PC file paths will be different, so it is important to keep the folders the same on Mac and PC. Is this happening to more than one project? Can you share the projects with us, so we can take a look at the issue you have run into?
Here to help.
