Issues with multiple versions of Premiere Pro And After Effects

Hi!

   I'm wondering if anyone would have any insight as to what could be causing issues for me in my Adobe products, I've tried multiple versions and it just seems so clunky, I've tried it on multiple PC's too, it just feels very laggy, slow to scrub through footage (even Proxies at 1/4 quality seem to perform with no difference to the base files, which is making me wonder if it's an issue in settigns or files, which is why I've tried different versions, lean installs the works.

My Specs are;

Windows 11

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X

RTX 4090

96GB DDR5 (2x48GB)

Samsung 990 Pro NVME SSD (multiple drives, one has my OS, files and Programs, and I have a separate one for the Media Cache as I thought that would help too, but it made no difference, or if anything made it lag and stutter more).

It seems even very simple tastks are causing lag, such as yesterday in a Dyanmic Link, I made a circle in a separate pre-comp and that lagged in of itself, any other questions, please let me know, and I hope this can help me and hopefully other people in the future!

Hi @jamieclarke, No problem;

GPU Driver - I have tried multiple versions of both Game Ready and Studio Drivers from NVIDIA.

Premiere Version - Similar to that of the GPU Drivers, I have tried multiple versions of both 24 and 25.

I have tried removing some, most notably I have the BorisFX Sapphire and Continuim and I did used ot have Envato, but since they don't support it anymore, it has been removed.

Audio Hardware Settings - My Audio Hardware was set to having a Default Input Device, I have turned this off.

Files - My files are from Twitch streams mostly, as I am an editor for content creators, so these tend to be h.264 files at 1080p60fps.

No problem, I just hope that I can find a fix, and thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly, I hope that you have a great day! ❤️

Hi @Tomm Saunders -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.
Please see, How to Report a Problem.

What is the driver version of your GPU?

What version of Premiere Pro are you using?

Do you have any third party plugins or panels installed?

Can you check your audio hardware settings and make sure Default Input is set to "No Input"

Are these HEVC files?

Sorry for the frustration.
