      Adobe Premiere has become a very unprofessional program. Version 26.3 is almost unusable due to the number of bugs, such as this one with the masks. The Slip Tool also doesn't display properly.

      All of this, combined with its absurd price and subscription model, clearly makes it necessary to switch to another video editing software.

      Wow, 6 months later and it’s still not fixed. Adobe is a joke. They push changes that nobody wants and then they don’t even work. And this isn’t just some small obscure feature, THIS IS MASKING. THAT IS THE MOST BASIC THING IN VIDEO EDITING THAT MOST PEOPLE NEED. Holy crap, I cannot stand this company.

      I wish I could help you, but I can’t replicate that … the masks show. So to figure out what’s going on in your system, what’s your OS, hardware, and specific build of Premiere, basic troubleshooting data.

       

      And of course, the media used, any other effects … and then lay out specifically your steps in creating the mask, and where it breaks down. Maybe we can figure out something to get you working again.

       

      That would be a right royal pain.

      This is a shocking bug to ship.  I’m so tired of premiere bugs destroying my workflow… especially when they are part of a feature they are pushing so hard.  I’ve used Premiere for 30 years! and its gotten worse and worse in terms of reliability.  I would never recommend it to anyone.  I’m one of the many people who has been editing more and more in Resolve - which is incredibly stable for me.  Also, Resolve’s AI masking is far better… despite Black Magic being a TINY company compared to Adobe.  Adobe should be deeply embarrassed by all the broken features and issues since Premiere 2024.  Every release since then has been a disaster.

      As a long time user of both Pr and Resolve, well, good luck with that. The Resolve forums have complaints about Resolve getting more buggy and non-responsive on some machines and threatening to move to Pr.

       

      None of these apps are perfect. Resolve still is missing many editing tools that both Pr and Avid have had for years. Doesn’t have nearly the number of keyboard shorts that Pr has. And the UI is intentionally totally inflexible. So if it makes sense to you, as it does some good friends, go for it.

       

      However, after a decade of use, I stiil struggle to remember where Resolve hides the context menus as it’s different on every ‘page’. And I hate their UI with a purple passion. A friend says it’s the most intuitive UI ever conceived ... we look at each other and shake our heads.

      Same issue- it looks like Adobe is removing this feature. Very disappointing. We’re going to look into other software options outside the Adobe family.

      Happening to me. Restarting Premiere solves the issue but only for a couple of minutes/tasks.

      I've been having the same problem for three versions now. I'm currently on 26.3.
      It's really far away that the Adobe team is still treading water.

      Can confirm I am having the same issue (also makes the resizing boxes and text selection invisible) and can also confirm that disabling the rulers is a workaround.

      Been struggling with this for months now. Do we have ANY idea when this work-around will be either communicated to the community at large and/or resolved? I had to DIG to find this particular work-around.

      I’m having the same issue with 26.3

      I have tried the above, in addition to assigning it to a keyboard shortcut. using the shortcut does nothing. object selection mask is nowhere to be seen.
