MOGRT Image Replacement is Broken in ME 24.6.1

I have a MOGRT that has an image replacement in it. Media Encoder 24.6.1 (Build 2) doesn't do the image replacement.

When I preview the image replacement in Premiere Pro, the image replacement is made just fine.

When I export it directly from Premiere Pro itself, the image replacement is made just fine.

When I test the MOGRT image replacement in After Effects it works just fine.

When I "export to media encoder" the image replacement fails, and the box is empty. Happens with both .JPG and .PNG images.

@Theresa Rostek Thank you very much. Was literally typing a "any update?" post.

Was able to reproduce the issue with the provided file and have submitted a ticket for a fix. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Downgrading to 24.5 will workaround the issue in the meantime if workflows require rendering via AME, otherwise you can render from Premiere Pro without issue.

Kevin, I have been in an DM exchange with Theresa (see above). I have sent her a sample project and MOGRT that she has used to reproduce this behavior.

As far as I can tell, that, along with the info I have provided here is all the info in a "how do I write a bug report".

What else do you need?

Hello,

The team needs more info. See, How do I write a bug report?

Thanks.

  • Is this all media replacement mogrts or just a specific one?
  • Does this issue happen in any project or just this specific one?
  • Can you show screenshots of what the mogrt render should look like versus what Media Encoder is rendering?
  • Can you tell me where your project/scratch disks/media cache are located?
  • If you're able to share your files, please Private Message me the collected Premiere Pro project and mogrt zipped up using a 3rd party file sharing service like Google Drive

Answering your questions

- This is the only media replacement MOGRT I use so, I don't know about others.

- I have created a new project that has just 7 seconds and it happens there

- I shared other screen shots, it happens the same on this sample

- The project and output are on a NAS volume mounted to the Mac, the cache is on the local SSD

- I have the test zipped and will DM you the Google Drive location right now.

Thank you.

For quick reference here's two screen shots. First in PP, second from AME.

Thank you for this detailed request.

I'll try to do some testing. I will create a small project with litte more than this MOGRT in use and see if it happens there. If it still does, I'll zip it up to my google drive and let you know.

Thank you SO much for following this up. Not being able to use AME is a bummer 🙂

Back to you shortly.

@CLWill Hm okay. I have some questions:

  • Does this issue happen in any project or just this specific one?

  • Can you tell me where your project/scratch disks/media cache are located?

Thanks!

A suggestion that I use is to right click on the Mogrt in Premiere's timeline and click on Render and Replace. Then convert the Mogrt to a video.
I find this a solid way to ensure my Mogrts remain in tact.
