Multicam interface lags

  • Issue – starting from premiere 25.1 changes to recordered multicam provoces serious lags
  • Steps to reproduce – Record multicam, using shortcut keys move to any of edits, using shortcut keys switch previously recorded angle.
  • Expected result – Immidiate change of angle in preview multicam window
  • Actual result – Several seconds of premiere thinking and only then angle changes
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version – 25.5
  • Operating system – Windows 11 Pro 24H2
  • GPU driver version (Windows only) – 581.29
  • Video format - UHD with 720p proxies

    Video attached shows about a second long lag. I'm sorry I have to blur the video, but you can see the moment when I switch camera in the history panel and then when yellow square changes its position. I also attach screenshot of your internal utility with frame prefetch latency when this lag happens. 
    Second similar problem happens when you press keyboard shortcut to extend the edit and it waits several seconds to update the edit in playback inspite the edit is moved in timeline immidiately. All those lags happen only in playback window.

Did try to reset and it doesn't help

The proxies are created in camera Sony A7S3

What are your pc specs, and GPU driver versions?

Are you working with HEVC files?

Can you right click on your media files and choose "media file properties" then post a screenshot?

I can not work with the multicam tool either. 😞

Always used to work. Now with the new update it is laaaaagggggyyyyyyy.....
Tried all the reset tips. Super fast SSD drive. Strong PC, RTX3080, Much ram...

What can I try. 
I have to finish a multicam project this week for a paying client!!

Downgrade?

Hi @Jack23953622aaql - The mediainfo above doesn't look like a proxy file.  How are you creating your proxies?

 

Can you try and hold down "SHIFT" while launching Premiere and check the boxes
"Reset app preferences" (Backup Preferences first)
"Clear media cache files"
"Reset plugin loading cache"
"Disable third-party plugins (one-time only)"

Hi @jamieclarke MediaInfo is down below. I don't know why media report changed letters, their location might have changed because they are on external drive and I disconnected it and then reconnected. Anyway original files are unlinked. I work with proxies that are on SSD. Can't tell niether why this is not shown in report.

Hi @Jack23953622aaql - Are your media files HEVC?  Your screenshot and media report aren't lining up it looks like your main files are on an F: drive? and I don't see your proxy files?

Sorry I don't understand what second file should I send. Project file?

 

BMD Driver 15.0. I tried earlier versions up to 14.0 and that didn't help

iGPU was off in BIOS all the time, I turned it on to see if it helps - it didn't. Normaly only RTX card is on.

Hi @Jack23953622aaql - I have received your email, but I only see one file,  If you open your project that you are having issues with can you do the same steps and send both files.  Thank you.

 

What blackmagic driver version do you have installed?

 

To isolate if it is a GPU issue can you navigate to Device Manager > Displays and then disable your integrated (iGPU) or dedicated GPU (dGPU) one at a time
